Like I've been saying from the beginning, a simple PM or email to Tango and he himself could have deleted the picture and his post or had the Editors do it.

And if the members didn't contact Tango then, before putting him in DH limbo, the Editor could have reached out to him. It was a mistake on the part of Tango and the content was very uncharacteristic of him (he has never posted anything like that ever before), so a PM or email asking him for an explanation would not be too much to ask.

And, guess what, any one of us could have made a similar mistake, regardless of how often we post. That's why it's called a mistake.

But it looks like many people here (specially some who spew so much infectious bile elsewhere* about Tango and many of us here) were in a big rush to judge and sentence him without at least checking with him and they quickly took the rest of the crowd with them to the nearest tree. The last thing they wanted was to miss out on the chance to "make him pay for his past mistakes".

Well I hope you guys are happy that he was made to serve time because it might be you who makes the next mistake and gets sent into the DH limbo without so much as a chance to see what it is that sent you there.

And no, expressing the above points does not mean that I am somehow tolerant of rape or rape scenes.

Tango, I am so happy that you are finally free, where you should have been all along. I just don't see these past few days on TMP as the best example of us. I wouldn't be so disappointed if I didn't know that we are better than that.

* Who knows? Maybe they might not have a place to go to now, and so they now want to "terraform" us at TMP, or appear as though they have always been our friends or as if they have all had a sudden and simultaneous epiphany and seen the error of their ways.

Its good to have you back Tango, I couldn't support a call for amnesty with the facts I had but personally I'm happy to consider just a mistake and move on.

Oh and CC, am I happy that Tango was punished…..in this case I'm glad the hammer came done equitably WHOEVER posted the image. To often these events on TMP lead to mass walkouts and mass hysteria as members take sides and fight it out, leaving nobody satisfied with how it was handled.

Liking or disliking Tango should have no bearing on whether he should be dawghoused for breaking Bill's Rules.

Seriously though, this is if anything a fairly benevolent dictatorship…..what 'rights' you have can be taken from you at the will of the Editors and you can be dawghoused (or banned) for however long they choose to do so.

On intent, I don't think there ever was a doubt that this probably was a mistake, if this image had be posted with the intent to make a joke of rape than Tango would have probably been looking at a ban rather than a dawghousing.

And in the spirit of "glasnost", rapprochement, etc. … Dan … I'm sorry I used you as an example for my Buckeye post …

e.g. : In the state of Ohio the USA. We who live here are referred to as "Buckeyes" … If I called someone a Buckeye, it's not derogatory. It's just local jargon.

E.g.: There might be some misunderstanding if I said, "Dan you Big brown Buckeye!" … Dan shouldn't be upset. Even if he was not from Ohio. He'd probably tell me he's not from Ohio !

I found this thread highly educational. I will state this once, very clearly. I like Tango, I disliked the diorama he posted and I thought the artist wasted their talents on tasteless, offensive tripe.
That being said, it is the splashes of true colors of the personalities on this board that I find the most off putting. I am saddened and a bit sickened to have been part of this community for so long. For the few of you who are not socially retarded prats, fair thee well,you will be missed. I am sure I will not be. After thirteen years with you lot, I am done with you and will not be returning under any condition that I could currently imagine.

Let Tango out of the DH. If quote marks or a link was dropped it may have been "da bugs" fault and not Tangos. Anyway I think an owner "pardon" is called for in this case.

I believe it was a failure to remember to post a link to what he was quoting that is the problem this time.

So as I said in the other topic, I will support a call for amnesty, because this seems like something that could have been handled very easily without a DH and really the first reply (if there was one) to the topic probably asked for a link.

Really though, should this have been a DH offence, failing to post a link or attributions when quoting somebody?

This has turned into the usual "Tango In The Doghouse" cluster.
