Ah the problems with simulating naval combat involving a minimum number of ships with most rule sets.

An AAR from the actual action at a Scharnhorst website -

link

And from wiki on HMS Acasta (the HMS Ardent article on wiki doesn't do her justice) -

Acasta proved to be a tough opponent for the larger German ships, laying smoke to hide Glorious and making repeated torpedo and gun attacks. She scored several gun hits and one torpedo hit on Scharnhorst, causing moderate damage to the much larger German vessel. Acasta was finally sunk after roughly two hours of fighting; the battle flag of the Gneisenau was lowered to half mast and her crew brought to attention to honour the brave fight of Acasta and her crew. The damage to the German vessels inflicted by Ardent and Acasta caused them to retire to Trondheim, allowing the safe passage of convoys carrying Allied troops from Norway.

That moderate damage to the Scharnhorst (from the Scharnhorst history)-

At 18:44, on board Scharnhorst, reports from gunnery control notified evacuation of "turret with heavy explosion and flooding, thick smoke belching out. Report from command centre declared torpedo probably hit at level of "C" turret on the starboard side, magazines being flooded . Last report from engine room said starboard engine out of action. Speed was still at 26 knots.

At 18:46, Scharnhorst on course 260°. Turret "C" magazines all flooded.

Not quite the game result –

The two German ships, barely scratched, this event will mark almost a normal day.

And in my opinion much cooler…
