I just love those two series, cool badguys 'with hearts of gold' with lots of big guns, cool spaceships and amazing female leads. Has anyone tried gaming these? What rules did you use. What minis? So far I've been putting together some modified Necromunda figs with babes for the Excalibur range. Suggestions,please.. |

I watched the 2 seasons of Dark Matter that are on Netflix. And am now looking for the third to be added. Too bad the series got cancelled. Dan PS. Not sure what the Killjoys is though. |

Always thought Killjoys would make a good setting. CC Killjoys are bounty hunters. Have not played any games though. I would use the original 5150 or Chain Reaction both by Two Hour Wargames. Really any space/western skirmish rules should work, or a role playing game like Stars Without Number. Bob |

THW's 5150 Fringe Space might be a better fit, or Urban Renewal with New Hope City PI. THW 5150 RPGs Regards, Scott Chisholm |

I ordered series 3 of Dark Matter off Amazon, so I've yet to see what happens next… Nukesnipe, I'll have a look at THW 5150 and see if that works for me. Or Stars without number. |

I was inspired by the Blake's 7 game that was at SELWG some years ago and wanted to do something similar without having to pay out for a whole lot of new minis. So I already have the Federation/Galactic Authority troopers. I made these out of a mix of GW Imperial Guard and SWAT teams that I'd bought ages ago. A nice dark blue paint job with some red trim…and there we go. I still want some cool rebel/pirate etc minis. |

Sort of sounds like Rogue Stars from North Star could be a decent fit. Quoting from NS Facebook: Character-driven firefights in a far future setting. Characters combine huge firepower with the mobility of futuristic ninja. The protagonists are Pirates, Cyborgs, Star Cops, Bounty Hunters, Merchants, Mercenaries, Miners, Militias, Dark Cultists, Psionic Knights. A point system lets you stat up any human, alien, or robot. Small table (3x3') 4-6 figures per player. Minimal book-keeping is conducted by placing tokens on the characters' profiles. The game uses an unusual activation system to represent the chaos of combat. In addition to the characters' distinctive Traits and equipment, squads have unique Themes (what they are and what motivates them) and Tactical Disciplines (how they fight). Figures are highly mobile: jump-packs, flight packs, personal teleportation devices and even psionic jumps all play a role. No coherence distance between figures is enforced. There is no facing: figures can move, spot targets and fire in a 360° radius. Discussion over @ Lead Adventure, will probably have miniature suggestions for different needs although probably not specifically for not DM/Kj minis: link |

tnjrp, thanks for this, I'll have to get a copy of the North Star rules. There are some quite cool minis on the Lead Adventure site. Nick |
