I don't know what they are called so googling a definitive answer has been impossible, from what I can tell its 3 or 4 markings and they are not all the way around but rather just the outer side. Can anyone help please?

I mention waterloo as thats when im painting mine for and don't know if they changed over any period of time.

From memory; cuff lace, there are four of them on each cuff sometimes in pairs but usually singly with a pewter button on each lace. The cuff lace was located on the outside so that the inside was bare (as per the right cuff above).

There were different shapes as well. The guardsman portrayed has bastion shaped lace on his cuffs. For most regiments the lace was square ended.

The lace itself had further detail within itself. However, at wargaming scale (28mm) they can portrayed as plain white.

I hope this helps.

The Mont St Jean web site gives uniform data for all the participants. Here's the British infantry: link

Just click on the unit title, and then on the button "Uniformes." All of the various cuff laces and patterns are illustrated.

Thx guys, I was confused by the term pairs etc, with your help now I see a pair just refers to a pair of laces then a space then another pair, and bastion looks infact like a bastion.

All seems simple now, and many thx for the link
