1806 Campaign in Poland:
As the French prepared to invade Poland the Russians were spread out along the frontier in 6 divisions. The French invaded with 6 Corps also spread out along the frontier.

A battle was recently fought in Golyim, Poland between the Russians under MG. Essen and the French under Marechal Lannes and his V Corps. French forces consisted 22 infantry battalions, 48 guns and 42 squadrons of cavalry….roughly 33,000 men (3,300 figures)Russians forces consisted 24 infantry battalions, 96 guns, and 75 squadrons of cavalry… roughly 31,000 men (3,100 figures)

The Russians also had dug 2 redoubts and occupied 2 villages and woods.

The Battle of Golyim was over with the Russian right flank collapsing. But the French were unable to pursue due to heavy losses in infantry and cavalry.

French losses; Infantry 3,300 men (330 figures), Cavalry – 1,240 men (124 figures) ..no guns lost

Russian Losses Infantry – 2,800 men ( 280 figures), Cavalry – 1,200 men (120 figures), 24 gun models lost 480 gunners killed/wounded/captured- 4 complete batteries were loss…big impact on future campaigning!

With the Russian withdrawal the battle could be considered a tactical French victory, but the losses in cavalry will haunt the V Corps for the rest of the campaign!

Thanks! Figure scale is 1 figure equals 10 real men. Rules are "ACW" Rally Round the Flag" converted for Napoleonics…allows for very big battles. Ground scale is 1 inch equals 25 yds, 1 turn equals 15 minutes. A turn is divided into 4 subsets.

Thanks for posting. I still have the play sheets from when we played back in the Memorial Park days. Still some of my favorite Napoleon rules.
