The closest thing I can call to "my hometown" (Dickinson, Texas) is essentially devastated. I spent most of the day watching the town I knew so well, (Sorry Luke Kelly), get swallowed up in flood waters…

I was supposed to teach a class in Houston to 100 students this coming Saturday and Sunday. No way. No go. I got marooned in Houston for several days after Tropical Storm Allison. Been there, done that. Best wishes to everyone down there.

For those of us here, you are either high and dry or totally devastated. There doesn't seem to be any middle ground. At least from what I've heard so far from folks.
