I like these a lot and I wish them good fortune. However, i can tell you, a lot of people will be leery of Kickstarter and IndieGoGo campaigns even from established companies due to the Spartan situation. I've done KS twice so far and was well rewarded in one, and Nyarlathotep knows if I'll see anything from the second so that's a diverse 50/50 result. It'll slow my wallet opening, that's for certain. |

Hi Covert Walrus, I can sympathize with your wariness of Crowdfunding campaigns! What I can say to reassure you is: - We've successfully delivered 4x Crowdfunding Campaigns over previous years using Indiegogo in the past, raising more than £42,500.00 GBP - We have already tested the tooling room with the prototype mould, and turnaround time was just 3 weeks. - Unlike Spartan, Troublemaker Games is debt-free. There is thus zero risk of us failing to meet debt payments and go bankrupt like Spartan have. - When we were delivering the plastics element of our first Crowdfunder, our CEO fell seriously ill. Rather than allowing this to affect dispatches, we formed an arrangement with our partners at Vanguard Miniatures, and ensured the plastics kits were delivered to our Backers. . I hope that this information reassures you that we have a long history of delivering Crowdfunders, we've tested our production pipeline to test for factory reliability, we don't let illness stop deliveries, and there's no risk of us going bankrupt as we're not in debt. On the other hand, the more backing we get in this campaign, that directly results in a greater variety of plastic buildings kits produced. Thanks for your interest, and have a lovely day. :-) |

Hello Troublemaker Games, Thanks for "Opening the books" as it were in your reply, and as you know, I am a follower and fan of your work ( Not yet a customer but that will change :) ). This project does look very feasible and I do sincerely wish you success with it. However my comments still stand as general observations about people's perceptions in light of recent events. Lots of people have had good fortune with such projects, and long may that remain true. As I said, I've only supported TWO which is not a representative sample size, and the results are barely indicative. As for the veiled attack on Spartan Games management in your reply, if you think that's the first occasion I've heard it, you'd be wrong – And if you think you were being scathing, again I must inform you that you have been complimentary compared to the vociferous and at times libelous and vitriolic comments made on other fora about the management team there. My bias against prejudice, hatred and bullying notwithstanding, it is becoming uncomfortable to me that the focus is not on salvaging the game system ( As with NetEpic) or even seeing what can be done for those who have lost money, it has become a call for personal and physical attacks in some quarters. And several companies are now using this fact to bolster themselves, loudly crowing that their own situation is far more stable, and insinuating strongly ( Much more so than yourselves, I will add ) that they are superior to Spartan Games management both as companies and as persons, so we as players should throw money at them, for that reason whether we like their games or not. This may appear to be a rant; I make no apologies for it. I am waiting on news about my KS goods from Spartan Games, and hope to be among the number of lucky ones who may still get something. This explains I trust my tentativeness at spending more on speculative projects, and my seeking to avoid malicious negativity. |

Thanks for your feedback again Covert Walrus. I can only say in response to your concerns that I was only trying to assuage your voiced concerns as to the viability of the project by giving examples of hardships we have faced and overcome in the past, and examples of ways in which we have preemptively de-risked the project. I was not intending to make an attack on Spartan as a company, or individuals who work for Spartan, but instead was intending to reassure that TMG is not vulnerable (at this time) to the kind of financial or logistical difficulties that led to the "spartan situation" to you yourself referred to. I presumed, that from your mention of the "Spartan situation", you were asking for reassurance that we at TMG have taken steps to avoid (to the maximum practical extent) a similar situation occurring, and thus I gave some specific examples of how we have de-risked our project. Again, this was not intended as an attack on Spartan's ill-fortune or management competency, but as reassurance that we at TMG have de-risked this project in a variety of specific ways. You could have asked "how can I be reassured this project will not fail?" and I would have answered in essentially the same manner – "we have tested the production factory with a prototype", "we are debt free", "we have a history of delivering crowdfunders", "we have a cooperation arrangement with Vanguard in case of illness", etc. I gave allusions to specific problems that Spartan have faced not as an attack on Spartan, but because of your apparent specific concern that TMG might face similar difficulties – debt, illness, production issues, etc. – difficulties that any company might face at any time. I hope this reassures you that I did not intend to make attacks against Spartan, veiled or otherwise, but was merely intending to respond to your (apparent) concern as to the capability of TMG to bring this project to completion. Regards, Ben S, Troublemaker Games. |

Oh, and in other news, we are now 100% funded and have begun to chase Stretch Goals! That is better than sliced bread, my wife assures me. |
Covert Walrus | 30 Aug 2017 2:29 p.m. PST |
All fair points, Ben S. Congratulations on the funding as well, though I would say that this product, while really very nice and better than sliced bread by a large margin, probably isn't as great as say English muffins :D I am just a little concerned that Kickstarter, and to a lesser extent IndieGoGo and others will no longer attract small companies wanting a boost and be only a fundraising scheme solely for established "Financially Stable" outfits. Not sure that was the intention originally. |

I've now activated the Gothic Theme kits Stretch Goal for pledges – which means that four new Gothic Theme sets are now available for ordering!
The next stretch goal will be reached in just £400.00 GBP more of pledges, and will upgrade the new Gothic Theme kit to include rear-side details (a Gothic cathedral-style rose window on the rear of the doorway panel, and double-sided arch details for the archway panel). Please pledge and drive, pledge irresponsibly, and pledge before you leap. - The Team @ Troublemaker Games |

Apropos of nothing, Hard Plastic Roads are now available for pledging!
The roads set is available in Small and Large sizes, and is compatible with our other scenery panel tiles, so that you can make dense urban areas that fit together seamlessly, or raised roadways using archway tiles, or… whatever else you can think of doing with hard plastic roads, really! Please enjoy your pledging! Thanks, - The Team @ Troublemaker Games |

From the Campaign: Hello Backers!
So, we have achieved our £2,600.00 GBP stretch goal target of the free Buttresses on the Gothic Theme sprues, hooray! Now, as the campaign looks unlikely to bring in enough cashola to open up the Cyberhive Theme tiles, I've suspended them until our next campaign (or unless we get a huge run on pledges in the next twelve hours, in which case they'll come back into play?!?), and the next Stretch Goal will now be at £3,250.00 GBP – Upgraded Details for the Mixed Theme Sprues. In this Stretch Goal, the rear sides of the Industrial style panels, which currently are smooth & plain, will be upgraded to have some cool industrial details on them! And to help us on our way, how about a fun Top Up extra? Resin Domes! These Resin Domes are now available for pledging in two different kit sizes, 4x Domes or 10x Domes. They're sized to fit onto the plastic building tiles, and add some cool aesthetic choices for your gaming table. As a Top Up, only Backers that pledge for a Plastic Buildings Set of Hamlet size or above are eligible to pledge for them, and there will be no extra postage & packaging charge for Domes. Thanks for listening! – The Team @ Troublemaker Games

From the Campaign: Hello Backers!First of all, thank you all, for the support that has been shown to the project, it's now time for the TMG team to take an expensive holiday! No, I'm kidding, now the real work starts! :-) We'll be finalizing the production order for the new moulds with the tooling factory shortly, and look forward to receiving production samples of all the new designs next month. In the mean time, I've also activated Indiegogo's "InDemand" system, which means that we can still accept pledges through the Indiegogo page for a period of time even though the countdown clock has stopped – which means we could still reach £3,750.00 GBP, and unlock that final Stretch Goal target… Go on, you know you really need two hundred gothic Resin Domes… Maybe even three hundred! Yes, definitely three hundred. And fifty. Also, you want to build a real house out of plastic scenery tiles, and you're fairly sure that charitable donations of gothic buttresses to orphanages is a moral obligation… …Stay tuned for exciting production updates! Thanks, - The Team @ Troublemaker Games
