You are building a very impressive collection. Keep them coming!

The painting is superb. Love the cheek highlights, that zygomatic arch cannot be over done this does show, and the shading on the beards. Second picture above, third chap from left, the only one with lance upright…..I would have said exaggerated highlights…if I had done it. But he looks alive, not a model. I even recognise him. Best man at my first wedding, 1977, and now runs a music business in LA.

But the Polish Guard lancers in the last picture, if on Flickr. You showed them recently here. It is a personal thing…best uniform of the Nap Wars, with Saxon Garde du Corps a very close second.

Skill…..

Very nice! Plus they can be used for a number of conflicts – they are, after all, Cossacks!

Lord Cardigan AKA Trevor Howard would have torn them to pieces…actually he did,

I know, as I have seen the film (many times on DVD)

Lovely work Mateus! Weirdly you're painting pretty much all the Napoleonic Russians on my 'to do' list, and doing a far better job than I will!

very nice painting, I would wish you would have a go at AB cossacks in 18 mm

And I for one am so pleased you carry on painting 1/72. Enough people paint 15s, so it is a real and genuine joy to find well painted 1/72 here on TMP

von Winterfeldt24 Aug 2017 11:07 a.m. PST

I see plenty of very well painted 1/72 scale figures here – it would be interesting to see what the talented Mateus could do with a first class set of miniatures like AB cossacks
