Roman governors seemed to have pardoned a death-row criminal once a year. Some world leaders today seem to pardon or commute tons of them. A) So, why not have the Editor conduct yearly Pardon Day, for just one or a handful of locked accounts or banished members? B) What day of the year would be most appropriate? C) Who would provide the list of candidates for the Editor to pick from from? Dan |

Well, if the President can pardon turkeys, surely Bill can as well. But it might not be a great idea. TMP has short terms of incarceration and is always willing to give past offenders a fresh chance, which is more than can be said for a lot of absolute monarchies. |

I think a pardon for a handful of locked accounts would be fine. If it does not work out they can be locked again. I don't believe anything catastrophic could happen and we might even benefit. Certainly it would provide Dear Editor an opportunity to show his magnanimity. Perhaps he could suggest ten names in a poll and we could vote for the top five to be reinstated?
