Folks, Am working on 28mm Mexican Line Cavalry. On the back of the rider figures is a belt that hangs off the left shoulder down to the left hip --it looks like the belt holds maybe a lance? About half way down the belt is a cylinder shape object. What is it? What color should it be painted?Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. |

Sorry--from left shoulder to right hip. |

That is most likely a cartridge box and in most cases is black leather. |

The belt itself would be white. Does it have a clip on the end for a carbine? |

I looked for the carbine clip, but the figures come with the carbine riding off the right hip, quite a bit lower. |

The Mexican Cavalry cartouche was silver with brass decoration. See Hefter's "The Mexican Soldier" available via this link TVAG |
