It's being a while since I last posted any new editions to my ACW collection but it's time to remedy that! The 2nd Maryland Infantry

picture
yes it's Dixon minis again, but why not in my opinion they are the best on the market.

only a couple of conversions this time. The officers sash, the sergeant's stripes and of course a weapon added! But that's about it.
So thanks for looking feel free to leave feedback and catch you all soon
Cheers for now Russ

Very nice.

The battle flag and the stars and bars, I'm impressed. Nice mix of different greys. A good mix of loading and firing poses. The officer with brown boots instead of black. The guy with the hat turned up on the side. Overall, it meets the excellent quality that bracken always turn out. Great work. Have a good day. TIG

Great stuff! I agree about the Dixons. They are the best ACW figures
around. And you have done them justice. Really nice.

Cavcrazy thank you, there is more to come

Disco Joe, thank you also more Rebs are almost being prepped as we speak.

TIG, thank you for your kind words and your support. It's good to get some more ACW stuff under my belt. More infantry will be added soonish hopefully they will meet your approval as well. I know if you approve I'm on the right track.

nevinsrip, thank you also! Dixon I think are definitely underated by a lot of people! They are stunning little figures and take paint beautifully thank you again for your kind words.

Thanks guys for your kind words and your support, it's very much appreciated.
Thanks again

Thanks for saving me trouble! I was about to label a Yankee unit Maryland, I blush to report.
(Nifty paint job.)

On further reading, I note Maryland was one of the less clear areas….

Thanks Guys

Legion 4,I've painted a few dixon miniatures over the years! They fit my style of painting nicely. Thank you for the kind words

Sobieski, it almost caught me out to begin with! I had to double check just to be in the safe side.

tigrifsgt23 Aug 2017 11:39 a.m. PST

Sobieski: There was a 1st Maryland on each side during the ACW. Being a border state, men from that state fought on both sides. Battle of Front Royal, May 23rd 1862, 1st Maryland CSA vs. 1st Maryland USA.

Maybe I'll do a unit of Maryland irregulars with a choice of command elements and colours.

Sobieski, I thought about doing something similar myself a while back. Going forward it may have to be something I think about again. Different command elements that could be used for the same group of infantry stands to represent different regiments.
