I noticed that this blog post from WWPD hasn´t been posted here. It talks about a Q&A Session (THAT I MISSED!) that goes over Battlefront´s future plans for Flames of War/Team Yankee. It´s pretty impressive IMO.

So Team Yankee will get three periods as well. It looks like they are trying to regroup the three ¨modern¨ eras of Flames of War gaming under one umbrella. Pretty cool.

Plus we get some details on Stripes, the US supplement for Team Yankee. Looks like we´re getting Marine LAV units.

Your thoughts?

I suppose it would just be considered unrealistic whining to complain that V3 players have been thrown under the bus. grin
I just wish that Pacific could have been finished as V3.

More things that make me go 'hmmmm'.

Every time I see "Stripes" I think of the movie, which was set during the Cold War.

I really wish they would get the effin' artist to fix that M60….sigh

Tgunner17 Aug 2017 1:21 p.m. PST

I think ¨Stripes¨ gets its name, informally, from that movie.

Is that a LAV-25 to the right of the HUMVEE? The article does say that they are in this release.

Just a side note here guys.
Has anyone else seen this. The PSC recently released the Soviet T-55?
link

I then wrote and asked:
"Is the PSC expanding now into Modern armor & AFV's as well and can we 'hope' to see more units from other nations as well?"
They replied very simply: "Yes!"

Ive heard that BF & PSC are 'close' but BF's models are a bit larger, so may not be the best to mix models w/in same units.
BUT.. if this pans out, its very possible that in the future we could have "Cold War to Vietnam" era modern armor to choose from. i.e. the various Patton models would be great I think.

Just thought I'd toss that out there.

Im w/ you PA. Perhaps they should or (if not too late) could name/rename the US supplement for Team Yankee after the wartime soldiers news paper, the "STARS and Stripes"?
Not only clearly American, but also a touch of history as well.

Old news about PSC doing the T55. They've announced a Leopard 1 box recently.

Part time gamer19 Aug 2017 12:24 p.m. PST

Yep, noticed that as well.
However I did Not check 'when' the T-55, or either for that matter, was first released.

Hmmm, apparently I'm not the only one who thought of the movie Stripes when I read the title. I wonder if they'll offer a heavily armed RV as part of their model line?

Tgunner20 Aug 2017 12:50 p.m. PST

There has been a lot of joking about that. I´m betting that it will be included as a special objective marker at an upcoming tourney. They have put out some whimsical ones like Wolfgang´s Bratty Wagon:

Only I wonder if there could be some sort of license issue here. Is the EM-50 is a trademarked property?

Same here, and "That the fact,Jack!" ;^)

"Where have you men been?"
Painting, Sir!"
"What kind of painting, son?"
"Aaaaaarmy painting, Sir!"

Ive heard that BF & PSC are 'close' but BF's models are a bit larger, so may not be the best to mix models w/in same units.

At least with WW2 armor, the various BF and PSC models are almost indistinguishable (you can tell what materials the model is made from by the details, that's about it).
