If you have an interest in 17th century piracy, or even just an interest in tactics and strategies of pirates and privateers in general, I strongly recommend 'The Sea Rover's Practice by Benerson Little. Well written and deeply researched, I really enjoy this book. I missed his lecture at Historicon, and now I regret it. He is a consultant on Black Sails and does the same for Blood and Plunder. |

Seconded. The Sea Rover's Practice is much better than the usual enthusiastic book about pirates and privateers. Little has a professional historian's care for primary sources, combined with the insights of a US Navy SEAL who is trained to board a hostile vessel. I'm glad to see him getting this recognition. |

The Kindle version is only $7.88 USD! Even I can afford that for a well-written book about buccaneering. Thanks for bringing this to my attention! |

He wrote another book on the same subject, the title of which escapes me, that is equally worth reading. |

I just finished his "Piracy in the Golden age, the truth behind the Myths" Very readable, I enjoyed it a lot. I plan on grabbing the rest of his as I can |

He has several titles. I just searched his name and came up with all of his books available on Amazon either in print or electronic. |
