Just moved to Kingston. Does anyone know of any historical groups? Looking for 1812 and ultramodern. |

I don't know about specific groups, but there are definitely some gamers there. You may want to try asking through the Ottawa Miniatures Gamers or try looking people up through CanGames. |

Don't know where you relocated from but Ottawa is about 2 hours up the road. Toronto is 3 hours the other way. I know there is a game store, usually the best place to start. Also with two universities there has to be a gaming presence. I would imagine RMC has to have something happening. What scales and rules are you presently playing? It is a lot of work finding minis gamers in the Toronto area (see previous thread). I have found a guy who is interested in this time period but North America centric. I like that idea. Anything from French and Indian wars up to say 1812 with the possibility of Fenians. Myself I am most interested in the naval engagements either off the coasts or on the Lakes. Using 1/1200 minis and let him arrange the land bound games. I was out of the hobby for years so my, once upon a time, ultra modern collection is now classed as cold war! I would be interested in some micro armour gaming. I am north of Toronto, still about 3 hours away, but would be willing to get together every month or so. Hows that? |

If you're on Facebook, the Hotlead game con group will be able to help I'm sure. |

Hi and welcome to Kingston. I belong to two wargaming groups. My orginal group has been gaming for about fifteen years mostly horse and musket with me hosting most of the War of 1812 games (my primary area of interest) and the other two generally hosting napoleonic games. The other group is eclectic, mostly horse musket FIW, AWI, Wof1812, ACW and FPW with forays into other eras. I could look into seeing if they (a great group of gentlemen) would be interested in another member. It has been fairly quiet over the summer but I will be hosting a War of 1812 game…Battle for Craney Island as another prelude to Bladensburg in about two weeks. You are welcome to join us whenever I get things set up. Leave me an email adress and I will set up an invitation. Cheers RJS |

Welcome to Kingston! I play with a couple of informal groups here in town. The range is fairly broad,VAS,CR6, FOW, BA and TY. TY is the closest we get to Ultra Modern. The land stuff is mostly 15mm and 20mm though we have done some mirco armour and will likely do more in future. There is a local game store here that carries a modest stock of gaming and hobby supplies and a decent model/RC store. Send me your email address if you want any further info. Cheers. Chris |
