Would love to know more about the picture above. How these are created is a complete mystery to me…. Favourite is still the one in the caped cloak, however "simple" that seems. Actually very difficult. I tried once with Polish Guard lancers…I know! Then comes the chap with the carbine. What an unusual pose The officer twisting in his saddle. again, how imaginative and different. Wonderful…if only they were in TOTS |

wow all that and yet you use rtv moulding techniques from the dinosaur era! |

Three Armies. I am a big ear to learn the better accessible possibilities for moulding! Seriously. I am an self-learner. If there are better ways to make moulds in home with Centricast C300 machine, I am interested. |

Yes I was impressed that you managed to get such good results from the RTV rubber. The Centricast system is indeed a dinosaur by todays standards. But as you say you can work from home with it, and I believe this is all Tony Barton used to make his pre casts etc. These days you can have silicone rubber that will vulcanize a mould at 90 degrees celcius in a couple of hours. I'm not sure what part of the world you are in but the rubber should be easy enough to get from suppliers like Nnicem or Coniex. It means you can work in plastic etc. The problem is you need to have access to some slightly more 'industrial' casting equipment. Maybe we are spoilt a bit in that regard here in the UK? For now I would 'soldier' on with what you are doing, it works, and looks great. Keep up the good work. |

Yes, you are spoilt there. :-) I live in Estland, Estonia. A small country between Sweden, Finland and Mordor. And I am happy to have even RTV rubber from Germany. I just get my shipment of this rubber which I ordered more than year ago. I sculpt in bedroom and cast in living room, so modern casting equipment must be small near espresso machine and look good as piece of art. Otherwise it is dinosaur by my standards.. ;-) I googled these Nicem and Coniex. There are showed the vulcanizer machine P 300 PILOT, but no dimensions nor price. Also google shows only two sellers of their silicone, one of them in US. For me this also is enormous waste of materials. I need moulds with 4½" diameter max, but only 9" rubber discs are available as smallest. --- Deadhead Dr Jeckyll, who ordered this set, suggested this pose for officer. |

That is indeed some painting to finish off superb sculpts. Greta research has gone into the details of their rig. The trumpeter's blue looks spot on…I have no idea how accurate, but it looks just how I imagined it. What colours used? I have tried several in 28mm but still not convinced I have it. |

He is now doing Gendarmes d'Elite….weep…. in something that is not 1/56, 28mm scale…..sob I may yet be converted. It is a Damascene thing….. I also had no idea they were so much cheaper than I am used to! Such clever posing. The chap with the carbine, straight from the famous sketch seen in every book. The turning officer I will say again. The caped figure….wonderful work |

If these are so cheap, you always may try.. ;-) |

Deadhead, relative to 15/18mm, 28mm producers are both more numerous and prolific. We shorties should be sobbing over Perry releases et al…….(especially in Napoleonics) |
