Wally world will have them for about $20.00 USD before Halloween. I have thought about picking up one or two myself. |

Here in Britain shell suited youths use vapes and they probably would do the trick for a fraction of the price of course they are effectively human powered in their method of projection.. |

Oi! I vape, and I don't even own a "shell suit"! I'm also no longer a youth ,-) I actually have thought about using a vape for taking pics but I doubt the "cloud" is persistent enough. I'll be picking up something like the one above when they're cheap … like me :-) |

The main issues between "20.00 foggers at Wal-mart" and this one are: 20.00 fogger at Walmart also requires "bug juice", and depending on the quality (It is 20 bucks and you are getting it at Wal-Mart), you might end up with a foggy room instead of a layout. Also, I'm not too sure about how the chemicals in the bug juice fog would work on the finish of painted figures. This one is water based, and thus any paper printed building,s etc would also be susceptible to moisture issues. |

It's *just* a "Mist Maker" costs about £5.00 GBPoo on ebay. Just plonk it in a bowl of water and turn it on – done. Or not… What they have done with this though is encase it in a nice box.. which is more than just a box – it stops the "splashing" that you get from the water being agitated by the ultra sound… which is a big deal if you've tried to do this in your scenery as everything gets rather wet. A chiller would be the one thing I would add, as the colder the water you put into it the better the mist – and the denser and lower it sits. You *could* do this cheaper, but for the price, unless you are skilled at such things, it's not worth doing it yourself. Just use iced-water and it should work very nicely. |

The real problem with the Halloween fog machines is the heat. They generate a tremendous amount of heat. |

that seems pretty cool to me – i wonder what the range is – like how far across the terrain does it spread until it dissipates? |

This video from the page linked above ( link ) gives a pretty fair idea I reckon. It looks very good, but they're also using Dwarven Forge dungeon terrain, which I expect is helping to inhibit lateral dissipation… I reckon it's more for the atmospheric photos/vids it would enable ( which I also think is ample justification for one :- ) ) . |
