Several issues. The main visual aspect is that the headgear – the typical baret worn by well over 90% of the Landsknechts in the 1510-30 time – is only provided on 3 heads per 6 bodies, and in a version that looks more fantasy then historical. Its like making a WW2 set with steel helmets for just half of the minis (and pretty weired choices for the rest). The other heads are somewhere between odd and useless (for Landsknechts).
50% of the bodies are armoured, a proportion that is too high unless you plan to use just two ranks.
The depicte armour is pauched and wedged, both features that only showed up well after the era these Landsknechts depict (1550+) (you can carve them down with a knife in well under a minute, so no real problem here).
The pikes are too short and have spear-heads that are ahistorical.
That said, I got myself three boxes and kitbash them with the Perry sets for Italian infantry (these bodies with Italian style helmets and arms) or for peasant infantry (perry bodies with these heads and arsm). Bodies and heads mix almost perfect, and the arms need only minor adjustments. Its, alas, not possible to use old GW heads (Empire Infantry of the late 90ies) on these, as they are too large. I am also sure that sooner or later fitting heads will be released – perhaps in metal – by the odd enterprising manufacture.
In addition, I think this set is perfect for a spear armed Empire infantry unit or pike-armed Tileans. 9th age (and older incarnations) do not offer pikes for the Empire, but with their rules they can fight with 4 ranks, so you would need a lot. Get this set, if you fight your battles still in the Old World and not the AoS.
