I ran this game ("Chariots of the Gods?" at Historicon Saturday night. We had 14 players, over 40 chariots, and fought to a decision in less than 3 hours. Everyone seemed to enjoy the game, played with the To the Strongest! rules by Simon Miller.
Many more pictures, Battle report, and some thoughts about the rules themselves on my blog at: link The game also was presented with a PELA award as well. Peter |

I had a great time in that game! I am really hooked on TtS! I hope to run a game next year as well. Now to figure out how to get the 54mm troops on the plane from California. Jeff |

It would be great if you were able to do that, Jeff! |

I also had a great time at the game, seeing my Assyrian heavy chariots run over a bunch of Egyptians! Thanks Peter for a wonderful game! Jim |

It was good to have you! Those Assyrian Heavy Chariots are super tough, but as expensive as all heck! |

Likewise, Clif; great times! We had the California Crew out in full force for that one! :-) I certainly expect to run 1-2 TtS! games in Lancaster next year as well. Peter |

I am also working on Simon to come to Historicon next year. He would probably not be able to bring figures to put on one of his 28mm extravaganzas but I think between the two of us we might be able to supply figures for him. Maybe he could put on a For King and Parliament games since the rules will have just come out a few months prior. I have a 10mm ECW project in fledgling stages. Peter, do you own ECW armies? |
Gonsalvo | 06 Aug 2017 5:50 a.m. PST |
I do indeed have (25mm) ECW armies; they are Minifigs from the last 1970's, and there are pictures of a For King and Parliament play test on my blog using them. I recently got some Old Glory ECW figures to add more commanders to them for K&P. having all soft metal pikes, I am cautious about transporting them much, but if Simon were to come over that would certainly be enough to get me to haul them to Lancaster. I of course, have quite a variety of 25mm Ancients, all 60mm WRG basing. |
