To make a short story long… When I was a kid I was big into model railroads. Back then a company called Tyco made steam engine kits that you could assemble into runnable engines if you were reasonably competent. As for myself, I made two runnable ones and one that jinked every rotation of the drive wheels. one of them was the General from the 'Great Locomotive Chase': link Now I am nearing retirement and my kids are moving out so I want to start model railroading again. I bought another Tyco General kit (left over from the 80's and still reasonably priced) and after buying a replacement for the missing cab (from the 50's and still fits) it's coming along nicely, especially because I am using the skills developed after 40 years of miniatures painting. Anyway, I figured it would be fun to find a Buster Keaton figure to stick on the locomotive and a mortar on a flat car like in the movie "The General". What I need is a mortar similar to this picture:
but in 1/87 (HO) scale. I don't game ACW often, so any advice or recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks, Dave M. |

I think this may be what you are looking for. btsrr.com/bts9506.htm BTW they also sell just the gun without the car. They also have a number of other ACW era car kits available. |

Good luck. I've been looking for these in hobby shops and trying to get them to order them for me. No one can find that these are even made any more. I'm trying the linek. |

BTS is pretty much mail order direct only (they don't sell much, if any through hobby shops). Good people and good service. My last order was about 9 months ago. |
