Thank you all for the comments. Yep, MBA is Miniature Building Authority. Always had nice buildings but really expensive. Guess everyone else thought so too because they are getting out of the 15mm business. The figures are 15mm. US mostly old flashpoint and NVA mix of old flashpoint and peter pig. Huey is battlefront. Dan, great link. Have made several attempts at modeling bamboo and failed. Just ordered three bags. At first glance seemed very pricey but three bags and free shipping I can live with 30 trees for $20. USD Thanks again Joe |

Wow, you are fast! Since I wasn't really looking for bamboo when I saw them, I hadn't even looked around to see if they were cheaper somewhere else. I'd be curious to see what you can do with yours. Dan |

wow Im getting "better" w/ age not worse. I managed to find this BatRep 'only' 6 wks late. My avg usually is in 'months'. But seriously.. it was a GREAT READ. I love the way you have worked your games to keep it around one platoon, operating in squads, w/ men w/ names & personalities. It gives them 'life' as it were, makes for much more than, "just another game". Sad to hear about the MBA, a No. of friends have bought from them, Very Nice, but as you mentioned, 'costly'. Have the feeling Im going to be looking back at some of your past Bat Reps. |

PTG, Sounds like we are kindred spirits! Yep it is all about the story for me. If I want to push nameless formations around I can play a boardgame for less money and hassle. That said, a lot of folks don't share our perspective and to each his own. Glad you enjoyed the posts. CC, the bamboo in my August post was from your link. Don't know about you but think it came out pretty well. Cheers Joe |

Final Qtr of 2017 very trying personally, so Ive been away to keep up here. As for running a 'simple' storyline/campaigns, I have done that from time to time. Yrs ago I kept a "log" of 'My Ether flyer". Solo missions w/ Space 1889. Granted I did not go into personalities as you did (kudo's, still love that). But I found it more fun to keep a record of the mission's, charting destinations, enemies encountered, the outcome and booty captured, as well as casualties. IIRC I came up with a chart of how much time would pass when repairs and or improvements were made to the ship. Hmm, pretty sure I still have the 'log' (notes) in the box with the game as well as a map I drew by hand on 20mm hex paper. Did similar with a solo mini campaign of the Fed. – Gorn conflict. In an 'intercept' mission, to buy time to evacuate Fed. outposts in the 'disputed sector'. Starfleet's force turned back the Gorn attack force, but paid dearly. The TF flagship, a Dreadnaught was destroyed in a hail of plasma torpedo's with all hands. In casualties, the Feds. lost, but the mission was a success. |
