Started two days ago,18 more days to go. I think CMON reached their goal of 300 000$ within 1 hour after the start of the campaign. I gave my pledge early. I supported few of their Kickstarter projects in the past and were very happy with the loot. With Zombicide and Zombicide Black Plague, CMON was very generous with the stretch goals extras and I expect nothing less from this project. I understand that many will object to the plastic and wonder why anyone would need dedicated figures when the historical ones could fit the bill. That's okay: this project, obviously, is not for them. It is for me ,I am extremely excited about it, checking the stretch goals every thirty minutes. link |

Love most of the minis, but the way this kickstarter exclusives are going, I'm not a fan at all. The repeated character figures, in boring (standing, leaning on their sword) poses. I don't get it. Also, a unit of dogs spread out over 3 stretch goals and $120,000 USD is ludicrous. Also, the figures are 32mm, not 28mm, so they can't be mixed with any existing 28mm figures in your collection. I'm going to wait until the very end before committing to this one. I love the idea (amazing sculpts), but right now the KS is just dead to me. |

So what kind of plastic are the figures cast in? The weapons ;look great in the computer rendering, but will they be straight when cast? |

I too wish the figures were not in the Dark Sword "32mm scale". But companies do this to make sure you must buy their figures. They are not in the business of helping other companies or allowing compition. They want figure/rule monoploy (see GW). I backed the project and will (maybe) play the game. But I'm much more committed to A Game of Fire and Ice as it allows you to use any figure line (historicals do indeed work fine). Compatition helps gamers (not companies). Bear this in mind before committing (at least exclusively) to the marketing bullies. Thomas J. Thomas Fame and Glory Games |

Should have been 1/72. You could have had "real" armies out there rather than skirmish level. |

Really? Another 32mm farce? Why why why? Well leaves me out and I was so hoping they would have been useable. Shame. Anyone happen to know when companies will learn this simple lesson? Grimm |

Grimmnar, it's now just another scale. I felt the same way about 28mm, then heroic 28mm. But with over 5,000 backers already, and plans for retail, it's going somewhere. |

Aren't 28mm figures 32mm these days ? |

Yep. This is an introductory level product. Most miniature forums discussing the game have posters who don't understand that they're not the demographic CMON is going after. They're going after CMON backers and Song of Ice and Fire fans, who are not familiar with wargames. That's why the miniatures are plastic pre-assembled 32mm. That's why it's ready out of the box. That's why the gameplay is not too complex. Now, whether or not this will make it in a competitive market of other "lifestyle" games, I dunno. I haven't read the books or seen the show. Song of Blades and Heroes, Savage Worlds, and Kings of War are earlier in the queue of miniature wargames to try out. Reaper Bones KS is coming next week. Hand of Glory RPG miniatures is currently funding. Still waiting for more mini's, myself before pledging. |

I think its awesome. The characters are really cool and I'm glad they didn't try to recreate the actors. I am currently listed to buy it, but money is low and my hoard of kickstarters is too high. If I had seen this 3-4 years ago, I would have begged on the street to have this, but the tv show wears me out. I'm more into skirmish. The only thing that may keep me in the game is the excellent design of the minis that could be used in other games like D&D, Warhammer, Frostgrave, etc. CMON has very good plastic, it holds up well and the sculpts are always great. |

The "32mm" original Dark Sword minis tower over modern Perry Brother 28mm figures and I assume CMON stuff will too. They do not want you to buy other more compitativly priced figures. That's the whole idea. I did the opposite tack with Knights and Knaves, the Fire and Ice edition. Its built to use any medeival figures with tips on painting and converting. (So you can use it for War of the Roses etc.) Still I do in general appreciate that CMON did not use the HBO version – so may try to find some use for the figures (modified Blood and Plunder springs to mind). I just found out about this 2 days ago and since I like the show I plan to pledge before it ends I'm just trying to figure out what to sell so I can have the money for this. The figures really look great and from what I've heard more figures are on the horizon. I'm very pleased about this. Michael |

I'm interested as I love the show but ultimately I know that this would just sit on the shelf along with multiple other kickstarters I have backed in the past. If I want to do pseudo medieval I'll just go medieval using existing minis and rules :) |
Captain Gideon | 02 Aug 2017 1:26 p.m. PST |
So far I've backed 3 Kickstarters 2 were connected to Star Trek Axanar and the other one was connected to Imperial Skies which is an offshoot of Aeronef. Now at least with the last one I do intend to use the ships for my games. I will back A Song of Ice and Fire and I'll play it and will try and get other people to play it as well. Michael |

Well the Kickstarter ended about an hour and a half ago and it was very good. The final number was $1,690,400 USD give or take a few dollars. And I was very pleased at what I plan on getting. So all in all a very good Kickstarter. Michael |

The figures look great (terrian not bad either) and there are lots of them. Game looks a bit dodgy and not very medieval lots of speical powers mostly just made up by the game designer. But they had the good sense to use multi-mount bases with consistent frontages so very easy to convert to DBX style gaming – perfect for Knights and Knaves for instance. That said game play looks a bit better than Age of Silly or even latter versions of Warhammer. Given all the bonus figures I think the Kickstarter was worth it even if I never use the rules. Wish they had been 28mm though… Thomas J. Thomas Fame and Glory Games |

Well Cool Mini or Not just got more of my money. Jumped in with the Late Pledge. Well worth it and this will be a better game than what GW has been putting out for the same price. |
Mithmee | 17 Aug 2017 12:38 p.m. PST |
so they can't be mixed with any existing 28mm figures in your collection. They can with mine since my stuff is either GW or Mantic. |
