"The table was set with last week's episode. Now it's time to eat. Tyrion doesn't waste any time before explaining the board to Daenerys, and by extension the viewer. These are the stakes: Cersei doesn't have the numbers or the emotional support of the people, but Tyrion points out that burning Westeros before ruling it wouldn't be a winning strategy. We hear this sort of thing, and it's hinted at from time to time, but we rarely see the actual damage these battles inflict on the civilians of Westeros. The Hound facing the results of his actions in the season premiere is one of the few times we actually see the fate of the common folk. They pay a different iron price. Also, hold on, Melisandre is offering counsel to Daenerys? OK. Telling Dany to "summon Jon Snow" is good advice. is heating up, especially when Dany states she expects Jon to bend the knee and honor her right to rule. We'll see how that goes, but the King in the North sees the wisdom of linking up with a power that includes dragons that breathe fire. There is an army of very cold soldiers on the way, after all. But the show is already hinting that Cersei has a strategy in place to deal with the dragons … even if it's just a very large crossbow. This episode is doing a lot of heavy lifting very early. Jorah is given no hope in terms of a cure for greyscale, and he's basically told to feed himself a sword before he loses his mind. That's pleasant …" Main page link Questions: - Did the wolf recognize Arya or not?. If the answer is yes… why she left her?… - Which is Mellissandre plan?… - Theon Greyjoy… is a simple coward or an intelligent man?… - Sansa… is enought clever against a Littlefinger? - Jorah Mormont… which is his special "destiny" in the book? > – Did the wolf recognize Arya or not?. > If the answer is yes… why she left her?… Yes the dire wolf recognized her. The answer for why it didn't eat her – my guess is that it comes up in a future episode but it could be GOT's equivalent of Khan's glove. |

agreed with dynaman , Nymeria to the rescue much much later . I don't expect much more of Jorah other than he gets cured and is then in the commando raid to capture a wight ( which goes badly wrong ) My predictions of the somewhat out of the unexpected ; Sansa gives littlefinger a death sentence , Arya carries it out ( ep5/6) The Dragon Viserion is killed by the white walkers , its resurected by the night king who uses it as his mount , they then destroy the wall ( ep 7 ) John and Dany have coitus (ep6 or 7 ) .. |

I give it a 50/50 the Littlefinger dies a horrible death or ends up king. |

The Onion Knight meets Mellissandre again and one of them does not survive. Euron makes a gift of a Sand Snake and her mother to Cersei. Arya kills Littlefinger, (just another name on her list). |

I still think Arya is not Arya but the Faceless girl. |
John the OFM | 24 Jul 2017 9:07 a.m. PST |
Yes. Nymeria recognized Arya. She would not have recognized her if Arya were the Waif "in disguise". Direwolves have mystical bonds with their humans. Nymeria is not Arya's "pet". Arya drove her off, and even if it was to save her, Nymeria remembers. No hard feelings, Kid, but I have my own pack now. Cue Fleetwood Mac "You can go your own way." Mel forgives Jon. It's what important priestesses do. Mrl's plan is to forestall Night. That was the plan starting with Stannis, and setbacks be damned. A plan is a plan. Theon. He who fights and runs away lives to … run away another day. I had high hopes for his redemption, but Naaaah. Sansa. Jon giving her the North was very important. It will insulate her from Littlefinger, and Arya is going to kill him anyway. Hopefully next week. Forget Jorah's "book" destiny. The books have long ceased to matter, and the book doesn't even give him greyscale. |
John the OFM | 24 Jul 2017 9:14 a.m. PST |
THE BOOKS DON'T MATTER ANYMORE. The books will matter as much as the book matters to Gone with the Wind. A mere curiosity. As trashy as I think it is, I still like to read "The Godfather". It fills in some blanks, but the movie is canon. |

The books are cannon – the serias an interp – enjoy both for what they are. Another character actually has greyscale not Jorah, likewise Sir Selmy is still alive (and about to fight a big battle). Yara name is actually named Asha and she commands the Black Wind – she is currently with Stannis and also about to fight a big battle near Winterfell. We'll see how it all turns out in 2018. TomT |

Winter is here, the wall is pointless now. The water on each side is frozen over, or will be. So the White Walkers just walk around the wall. Also Think Sandor Clegane (The Hounds) vision. Also watch the map on opening credit and compare to past maps. |

1-0 to Cersei, however Euron missed the big prize (the Unsullied) so its likely the Lannisters are going to lose both their main recruitment area and the finances to raise new troops. Cersei's position is at best marginally improved with the removal of the Dornish (at least for the moment)……seems like its more of a win for Euron, firmly establishing his rule of the Iron Islands. Of course the Dornish are famous for holding a grudge so Euron likely to get stabbed and or poisoned at some point. |

Euron's Iron Fleet ships have …. interesting designs. |
Earl of the North | 24 Jul 2017 11:20 a.m. PST |
On canon, aren't they both canon since the TV series and book series are separate entities at this point…..if there are spin off TV series its the HBO version which will be canon rather than the books. |
Mutant Q | 24 Jul 2017 12:18 p.m. PST |
Am I the only one who thinks that Euron just didn't blunder into Yara's fleet? That whole battle smacked of an ambush, which means Euron knew where Yara was going to be, which means Dany's got a leak. |
Mutant Q | 24 Jul 2017 12:21 p.m. PST |
Tango1: "Theon Greyjoy… is a simple coward or an intelligent man?" More likely PTSD episode. Yara had been a source of strength and stability for him since escaping Ramsey. Being unable to help her along with Euron's comment about his… ahem… handicap probably triggered a relapse of Reek. |

Casterly rock falls to the army of Dany at some point , the entire Lannister army is ambushed ( assume on the way to Casterley rock ) and wiped out by the Dothraki … |

Nymeria has her own life now and is not going to return to being a pet. A clue is the phase "its not you" which was used by Ayra just before she started to learn to fight with a sword. Theon knows it is better to run away to fight another day. |
Mithmee | 25 Jul 2017 1:13 p.m. PST |
You do know that Euron probably lost quite a few men that he cannot afford to lose. Sure he came out the winner in that battle and did get rid of two of the many Sand Snakes. But I doubt that he hit the main fleet I would give him until episode 5-6 and then he will be quite dead. |

Shouldn't Euron be dying as sandsnakes put poison on there blade's? |

Or it is slow acting Poison. They did get in a few licks themselves though they should have fought together or went after his crew first. |

She is a bit more subtle. She likes to get up close and then strike. But she is not going to get out of this Season alive. |

Looks now like she might but Tyene (of the most awesome breasts) isn't going to make it :( :( |
