Anyone ever try a mega-game of FoW? I recently was in one where some folks at Game Time Miniatures, near Milford,Ohio, played a mega-match using Market Garden/Bridge By Bridge. During play the film "A Bridge Too Far" was on the DVD player. Results, the Germans kept Allies out of Arnhem. In fact the Allies did not get hardly any air support until the final few turns, and it wasn't all that effective either,(we played about 14 or so turns.)and the Allies only got as far as Nijmegen(spelling correction welcome). Timed out at around 6+ hours of play. |

The trick is having enough table space and terrain. One store I used to play at had 4x6 tables on heavy-duty casters (the big 4" ones like on a mechanic's tool chest), and we'd push 3-4 tables together for big games. |

I use a 6x9 table and measure in half inches. Using 1/285 models. I can put a LOT of toys on the table, and with the mods to the rules I use it plays very well. We have played with 5-6000 points per side, played over 12 turns in 5 hours. |

All the time…. depending on your idea of a "mega-game". I view table size as a major component towards the mega game concept…. plus forces to use the larger open tabletop space. 12x6, 16x6 and even 24x6 games several times a year. Points…. 5-8k per side with reserves included. I play FOW Ver3.0 rules and 20mm scale miniatures. Tend to dislike the recently released limited Ver4.0 format and have no knowledge about Ver4.0 with mega gaming. From the Wargamerabbit blog: link Battle of Troina – Sicily 1943
Battle of Salerno – Italy 1943
Omaha Beach 1944
Side note: FOW Ver3.0 gamer group at Games Empire (Pasadena CA) have a large Mega Game Russia 1941 scheduled for July 29th. |

I have always said that FoW is a much better game fought with standard sized armies on a bigger table. 1500-2000pts on a 6x12 is so different from a 4x6 table slug fest. With 6000 pts I would want a couple of 6x12 tables. |

Use a bigger table so that the tanks are not touching each other. |

Looks great. We used about 12-16(maybe a couple more) tables,6ft. length each. 1400 points each player. I think it might be on the store's or someone's Facebook page,if they have one. |
