It is just over 100 years since the Battle of Messines took place in western Belgium. The British and Dominion forces successfully captured the ridge, which had formed a re-entrant into the their line after the Germans took the ridge in 1914. My paternal grandfather fought in the battle so it was lovely to reproduce the assault in 6mm scale at the Joy of Six 2017 Show in Sheffield. The photos and AAR can be found here: link Robert |

Simply spectacular, Robert. Your projects have been an absolute highlight of the Centenary for me. As another one with a paternal grandfather at Messines, I am especially moved to see this one. Here was a sketch he did at the time (you can just see part of the trench line in the background)
