Looking to put together a couple of 15mm Companies for PBI reasonably cheaply.

Probably not as cheap as possible – I could go plastic (PSC or Flames of War) but I think I prefer metal.

Been looking at Peter Pig but as the only way to buy them as it groups of 8 there are cheaper ways to put platoons and companies together.

Have seen Forged in Battle and price-wise they are attractive and the little I can find to read suggests that they are reasonable.

Anyone tried them – what do you think. Would be thinking Germans vs Russians or British.

The one problem with FiB is that the range is limited – so I would have to look elsewhere for more specialised units.

How do FiB and Peter Pig mix – would they look okay mixed in the same platoon.

Cheers,

Nigel

I really like the FiB minis – they are way better than Battlefront IMO. Lots of detail and character.

Thanks – they do look good in the pictures on their website and are very good value.

Do you know if they would mix well with Peter Pig or others.

For example if I wanted some of the Germans to show Panzerfausts or have a Panzerschreck team I would need to look elsewhere.

Cheers,

Nigel

I think they mix quite well. I buy from both brands

Many thanks. I probably would have gone with Peter Pig but because they don't do any platoon or compny deals FiB work out much cheaper (two thirds the price).

I did ask Peter Pig about this but they said that they used to do Platoon and Company deals but they cost too much to put together. Must admit that I didn't really understand that response – can't see how it would be more expense, they don't have to have them sitting on the shelves waiting to be bought they could just put them together just like any other order.

I assume they really meant that they couldn't afford to discount based on a quantity.

Cheers,

Nigel

I've always liked their figures. Used to sell many codes in their range until my Distributors drooped them for some reason. Excellent sculpts.

Peter Pig used to do platoon packs for most WWII armies. I rate FIB figures, with the exception that all their rifles appear to be a bit short. Nice figures as are Peter Pig. FIB are a little more slender. Mix OK on single bases I would think but I wouldn't mix them on multiple figure bases personally.
