The new supplement for Combat Patrol(TM): WWII for games set in the South Pacific during WWII will be released by the end of the month. Like all the previous supplements, including the recent Wild West supplement, this one is free. Players will be able to download the supplement in a week or two from the rules' Web page: link See information on the supplement here: bucksurdu.com/blog/?p=6622 There will be two new Action Decks that are available for this supplement. While not strictly needed, these two Action Decks will make life easier for Japanese players. They will be sold through DriveThruCards like the original Action Decks and through Sally 4th in the UK and Europe.
For more information on the rules, see link Join the Combat Patrol Facebook page to keep up with news. |

Will the new action decks be fully usable with non-Japanese forces? Really checking whether this can but used as a replacement for the normal decks or is something that needs to be in addition to the normal bundle |

I'm not exactly sure how to answer the question. For those folks playing Japanese units in the South Pacific, you would use one of these decks INSTEAD of one of the Action Decks from Set A or Set B. But the Allied forces would still use one of the other Action Decks. The South Pacific decks don't stand alone, in other words. They are a supplement to the original rules. Did I answer your question? Buck |

Buck, Yes, that answered my question. I was about to order set A (already have the rules) but saw this and wondered if I should wait on these. So will go ahead with the original plan then get these when they come out. Thanks! Ed |

PV, The big change in the Japanese decks are the morale results. There are more group results than people doing there own thing. In playtesting it seem to fit the idea of Japanese morale better. You don't NEED the Japanese cards to play the Japanese. There is a list of results and you can look up the regular card you drew for morale and cross check a table to see what the new result is. That is how we playtested. Clunky but perfectly acceptable. You would still need one of the :other" decks for the allied forces. This is my go to set of rules so I will be buying a pack. I figure I can also use it for my Viet Cong and NVA troops. Cheers Joe |

Joe: Thanks for making that clear, Joe. You said you can use it for Viet Cong. I have also used the new decks for Moros in the Philippines. Buck |
