So I have been contemplating building platforms for two 1/72 elephants to carry a Gatling gun, so I went to a local train and rc shop to get balsa and other stuff to try my hand at diy. Well, someone had left two beach pails full of old Ral Partha medievals there to sell on consignment and in one of the pails were two elephant platforms. They were, I believe, the bottom portion of towers for ancient elephants as I saw elephant parts in the pail. I got them both for $.50 USD. And they fit the two elephants I have perfectly! Just wanted to share my lucky break.

That was a lucky find. You didn't try to buy the whole lot of them? Those Ral Partha medievals are getting hard to find, I think.

The only problem is they are true 25mm and don't match contemporary figures. Just watch the Marketplace and wait for the Greek army to pop up again.

Now, if they were colonials….

Had they had been colonials…oh man! But they were mostly crusader period which just isn't my thing. Definitely tru 25's. Probably would have matched nicely with a lot of 1/72 plastics.
