I was glad to read the announcements over the past week on the blog/website of TAG that in their pipeline they have included what they call The Long War, as an extension to their Renaissance Tudor Range. As what we call the 80 Years War in the Netherlands is a favourite of mine I was much delighted, especially as they are planning the early decades of the War, which of course runs parallel to the English Tudor-Elisabethean period. They plan a specific Spanish as well as a Dutch range, including the Pluderhosen-Landsknechts, Sea-Beggars and Dutch Militia. At last this will enable me to recreate several typical actions from the Dutch Revolt period as it is internationally better known. Knowing the quality of their other Renaissance ranges I'm confident in the quality of this forthcoming range. Le Duc |

Isn't Old Glory one of the only other companies with a range covering this period? |

Hello Yogibear, There still is the old Citadel range, true 25mm scale and designed by the Perries and available through Wargames Foundry. Gamezone, a Spanish firm, in 2005 launched an 'Imperial' range, of which many figures, beautifully sculpted and also true 25mm, were very suitable for the early decades of the 80 Years War. And last but not least Warlord has released up to now one box in 28mm for their Wars of Religion Range in Western Europe and some seperate packs, all in metal and 28mm. But actually Old Glory is the only one to have a reasonable range on offer. |

I forgot about the Foundry Elizabethans. Stupid me, I have a bunch of the Gamezone figures but only think of them in terms of Warhammer. |

Many of the Gamezone figures make excellent Spanish troops and fit fine with the Citadel range. |

A long overdue addition to the available Renaissance figure ranges. TAG figures are great up to now so I hope these will also be usable figures. |

Annoyingly the Demi Lancer they will be doing is a specifically Dutch figure. I wanted some to round off the Tudor range. Does anyone know of any that would fit stylistically with the TAG Tudors? |
