Hello everyone Can someone tell me about what exists in 25/28/30mm figurines on the Byzantine Armies from 1070-1204 to 1453 AD. Say at the time of the crusades, feudal and medieval periods… Thank you. |

Check Eureka Byzantines in their Dark ages range. Gripping Beast range will also fit your period, also check their Turkopoles from Crusades range. Check Perry Turkopoles and Armenians. In Perry late medieval range they make italian bowmen that possibly be good for late period Byzantine guard archers. Finally, various Stradiot figures look very similar to Georgian mercenaries Trabezund used. Old glory Balkan cavalry from Turkish range and light cavalry from Renaissance Persians can be used for lots of mercenary light cavalry types as well as many Essex cavalry from their Crusades range for heavies and lights. |

No 25mm manufacturer makes specific 14th 15th century Byzantines, as far as I know. I had to browse through several books and many manufacturers to compose that army. Byzantines were conservative in their military looks and mercenaries from many nations composed their army. |

Bizarre that one does not really find a complete range on the Byzantine army at that time? I have the impression that the rhomaioi (and at all times)have never had the affection of the players, except when they have a Varangian guard of more and more Anglo-Saxon after Hastings. |
