Do you know how hard it is to hold that position, particularly without propping your back against something?

How that could be a steady platform for a flintlock shot, I don't know.

He is an exquisite casting, no doubt.

I am sick to death of rifle green having done my Brigade games Chosen Men and now the Light KGL (which are even better).

For me, the concern would be where you might well get shot, presenting such a target to the fore. Generally makers show the Plunkett shooter as being more supine than this chap, but, if he does have a grassy knoll to fire from, there is a long tradition of…….

I am with Deadhead here. This looks like classic Plunkett (and drill book position) but with him propped up against something like a log or even another Rifleman (dead or alive).

I note that ultra long range competition marksmen still use the position today with sights mounted on the butt of the rifle.
