I am starting on looking to do the M114 AFV (since it has been requested by a couple of folks). On the plus side, I have found a good few photographic references (several walk-arounds). However – unusually – I cannot find a single technical drawing or blueprint (not even a bad one!) All the usual suspects have turned nothing up, and the google search I've been conducting is similarly unhelpful. This is a bit of a problem, since I need a technical drawing to work from to eve!21) the right place.) Now, I might be able to use some of the photos for maybe part of it (there look like a few photos that are dead-on from the side, for instance), but with perspective, it makes it rather far from ideal (and doing the tops, for instance will be very difficult) and it means a lot of it will have to be done by eye. While the M114's fairely flat shape means it might be more possible than with many vehicles, it will still be more difficult then I'd like. So, does anyone have or know where I might be able to find some sort of technical drawing/blueprint/similar visual reference? It would be enormously helpful in trying to get it to a reasonable degree or accuracy. |

You could check with the National Armor and Cavalry Heritage Foundation at link But, if you have facebook, you might find a faster answer from the National Armor and Cavalry Museum (they're the people taking care of all the vehicles at the above) |

Stackpole's "Cold War Armored Fighting Vehicles (AFV Plans)" by George Bradford has an M114A1 C&R vehicle, scaled for 1:48. It's got a front, rear, left side and top down view. |

This is what I used for M114A1E1, albeit it is not very useful, I guess. |

Folks, I am posting for Aotrs Commander as Bill has gone on holiday and only Supporting members can post. He says thanks for the help and the links but no replies as yet, so the M114 is off as a model for the moment unless somebody can get hold of technical drawings for him. Obviously, there will be no release posts from Aotrs Shipyards until Bill gets back off holiday. |
