I'm sharing this in case you havn't seen it. 450 fihures. They're on ebay although nothing to do with me… A good number appear to be early Minifigs – but many are another maker.. ebay.to/2tOCl9U |

Some of those seem to be battery-cast Scruby 30mm's from about 1966-67. I have 2 20-figure units of those somewhere 'round here… |

Ed's probably right. My gut feeling is they're a little well-rounded for a Scruby battery cast, but I was traumatized by painting some semi-round Austrians back in the day. I may be remembering them as worse than they were. Jack Scruby made castings I could afford, and he made some good castings. But some of them really were an awful lot. |

I was referring particularly to the single-based British infantry. I have 40 of them in that exact pose; bought 'em in '66 at NINE CENTS APIECE ! Also have 40 French ligne, same category. I think I also spot some of Jack's later '2-D' figures, where the mold is essentially in two-dimensions, with the part-line running around the sides of the casting such that if you could cut along it, you'd have two equal halves, but one 'front' and one 'back'. |

Every Scruby figure I ever had was butt ugly, but he made stuff no one else did and it was affordable. |
