Salutations, gentlefolk !

Oneovdezedaze, a good friend of mine is going to retire, start building a HO train layout, and I'm painting up some figures (civilians, so far, 1950's era) for the station platform (Will be his birthday surprise, don't tell him!)

Anyway, he lives in central New Jersey, and his hometown might well see servicemen from Dix, McGuire or Lakehurst passing thru. Might there be any figures of US military of that era, wearing 'travelling' or 'going on leave' or 'dress' uniform, in HO scale, and if so, any painting guides for them ?

Thanks for whatever help you can give me with this.

Preiser has a large selection of HO scale military figures and vehicles. They also cover many periods of time.

Here is a link to their "1950s US/NATO Troops."

Scenic Effects also make some in metal, already painted. Check out the Walthers catalog, they have a good selection of HO figures.
