Rare. However, rules confusion and disagreements over rules interpretations are common at cons and in our living rooms.

Rare. One particular example of inadvertent cheating at the DBA tournament at Historicon a couple of years back. He was playing with his Republican Roman army, and used a die with Roman numerals on it, rather than pips. I can understand why, as it fits with his army's theme. However, many times after a roll of "six" was announced, I recognized that a lot of those were probably "fours", but it could be hard to tell, depending on the way you look at it.

I have no question that my opponent was not deliberately calling out the wrong score, but it did strike me as funny.

Apparently in D&D according to the Author of "Shared Fantasy" cheating is pretty wide-spread, regular, and accepted within limits. It makes interesting reading. I wonder how much of the same type goes on I miniature games. I have seen cheating going on and some of it quite regularly but on the whole what I have seen done was quite innocuous and Unimportant. It was something that when it happened, you tolerated because the person doing the cheating was a lot of fun to have around and you didn't want to toss him out because of it… like Peter Young.

I regularly game with a fellow who rolls so badly that I have ASKED him to cheat.
