HMS Surprise should have seven stern windows (good luck with finding a miniature with those, is time for the modelling knife and plasticard) and the mainmast should be much taller as Jack re-rigged her with one from a 38…

OK, I'm kidding – that is very nice work.

Clicking on the blog the aim was to replicate the movie version (i.e. the Rose) from Master & Commander, and the film-makers baulked at hacking that ship about too much as well.

Is she still moored in San Diego ? – I visited her while I was there on a business trip but it has been a while now.

(and if you want to model the book version, then you do have to include the bits I said. You can omit Jack's beloved catharpins, though. Bit hard to see in 1/1200th !)
