My weekly tome discussing the stealth like return of the highly popular Geo-Hex terrain system. Who knew?

I certainly had no idea. Thanks.

Nice job Colonel. I had a Geo-Hex set and while there were some positives, the negatives (can't find the right combo of pieces, getting everything back in the box, etc.,) forced me to go to another solution. It might be worth a second look.

I think it would work best with a dedicated gaming table.

Yeah, I've gotten a few things from him over the last few years, after discovering he was still trading on ebay.

I actually started thinking of a new set for the first time in a long time. That river set looks nice. But my birthday just went past!

I JUST bought his last MountainScape set off ebay last week! I saw he was back on ebay probably about a year or so ago. I had no idea, but figured most people knew… I was wrong apparently! I wrote him a few weeks ago to ask about the MountainScape sets, he replied back fast and said he would be putting a few up soon. He let me know when he did & as soon as I had the funds I got me a second set! The first one I bought in the 1980's then I got an expander set at my 1st H-Con in about 90 or 91. Great stuff! They are "Buy Now stuff, not an auction" BTW.

I found them a couple of months ago, but it has been back since 2014! Good Grief, talk about poor marketing. I thought I was one of the first ones to discover them. I bought three of the biggest sets he had. My old sets are a little worse for wear.

I have notice some on Ebay but they were old used ones and quite horrible.

I had grown so frustrated that in 2016 I had decided I was going to produce my own. I had found a company to cut out of the same kind of foam using my old Geo-Hex as a template. I had sourced the flock. Got some seed money and I was ready to go live.

But I did one last Google search and bingo there it was. Were on earth was he hiding all this time! I cancelled everything. I wasn't going to do it not to make money so much. But I knew a lot of people have been looking for it.

My Geo-Hex wish list:

1. Make a set for 28mm figures. The current set works great with 15mm but not so much with 28mm.

2. Bring back desert scape.

3. Bring back the mountain scape.

4. Make the connecters in colors to match the Geo-Hex.

5. Bring back the mats in more sizes. Not fancy just the plain ones. I will add the terrain.

Just remember to ask for Game-Scape. The Battle-Scape has a bunch of smaller hexes printed on them. I got that by accident one time. I didn't know he made them like that.

Exciting news! I could never afford GeoHex in it's heyday so glad to see it's return.

Good to hear, though I think I'm OK. I've been picking it up in flea markets.

Yeah, I could pick up more, use it for a base and have actual recessed rivers--just as soon as I could find bridges made to fit. Someone used to make them…

I saw his recessed river sections and will probably get some in the future. I really like the look with microarmor.

I have 2 deluxe sets that I have never even taken out of the boxes.

The Battle-scape line was intended for Battletech, and was the gold standard for tables long after it vanished.

Rallynow, MountainScape IS back!I just got my new set yesterday, great stuff!!

It'll be like Pandora's Box if you do. They never fi back in…

I have 12+ huge plastic tubs of GeoHex. Enough to do any possible terrain including grass, desert, and mountain. Huge fanboy.

The river pieces are intriguing but using regular GeoHex and crinkled brown cellophane for my water is not only incredibly inexpensive , it looks good and is the most flexible option.

I've stealthily ordered sets and pieces over the last few years from Kieran. He is a good guy to deal with and everything shows up within a week from Washington. Check if he has stock when you order because if he is out you won't get it within a week.
