The Old and Middle Guard Infantry from the collection.
These are mostly AB`s with some Blue Moon, Warmodeling and CGM as well..
All 15/18mm Miniatures. Mostly Painted by Neil of RBP and some by myself as well..
Hard to get a hold of good 18mm Sculpts for the Guard Sailors, so these are just French Line grenadiers with a paint-conversion.
The Guard Sappers are middle guard fusiliers with a paint conversion.

Cheers all!
Erik

Oh yes.

Your best posting yet (and that is saying something)

the Marins and Genie…inspired work. I just about managed red piping on the black lapels and cuffs in 28mm scale. Officer of Engineers is clever…blue lapels as well…not black. Someone's done his homework!

Let's give him hard time though. You know we cannot resist it…….. half the fun here…….

3rd Dutch Gs were a funny lot. Grenadiers so grenadier square ended lapels…sure. But a Chasseur style bearskin…ie no brass plate.

OK, I got it wrong…and I have no idea why.

Let's say…my excuse… it was an hour after surgery to remove my facial BCC, done by an old friend who told me his health and vision was not what it had been (Oh great.. now he….). Funny thing is, the left side of my face tonight looks ten years younger than the "virgin" right side. Not a wrinkle! But LA is wearing off….ouch….

Anyway. I confused Sailors (Marins) of the Guard (Garde).

The Engineer Occifer is a piece of inspiration. But he does need the black lapels after all.

I do not care. You got everything right other than Third Dutch bearskins and the Genie Occifer coat.

This is your best yet. Plus I am not just trying to push this back to the top (grin)

52nd would knock the stuffing out of them mind. Helped by 71st HLI, 95th and Guards

Good grief superb!!

Hehe:) Well Liam, Throw in the Osnabruck Landwehr regiment, Chasse`s Dutch and a Dutch battery firing into their right flank at point blank range and you got yourself a good old fashion rout!
Feedback on the 3rd Guard regiment and the Sappeur Officer is duly noted!;)

And thanks for the nice comments boys!

Cheers!

Halkett's lads and the Netherlanders yes indeed. Spent last few days in the sun reading The Lie at the Heart of Waterloo for the third time. It is far, far, better than the title suggests, at least for the bulk of the book which is all about the repulse of the Guard.

Dunno. I too thought blue lapels for officers of Engineers, but, every single picture…black.

As for 3rd Dutch Gs……odd lot indeed. Grenadiers coat lapels, Grenadiers single tassel on bearskin (not two like Chasseurs), but no plate on the bearskin. They did have the embroidered grenade thing on top, whilst chasseurs had nowt! So all is wrong is fixed in seconds with some black paint……and you know you will not happy until. now some geek has told you!

brilliant work

brilliant work indeed! The amount of units, the paint job, the basing… The few uniform approximations can be excused. One simple thing I would advise is 'unbend the muskets/bayonets'. A simple task, which makes a difference.

keep them coming ;)

Liam: Paint is coming out this weekend…just need black and panzer grey then to correct both mistakes;) Thanks for the good advice!

Col B: ..and the tools to straighten the bayonets as well! I saw it after posting the photos, I actually hate it when other do that, so my OCD has taken a severe beating now!;)

Also, noticed that I double-posted the Guard grenadiers in greatcoat and forgot to post the chasseurs in greatcoat..oh well..

Outstanding, always loved the marines with their aurora piping.
