Hi all, Just back to 40k to play against my son. Having not played 40k since Rogue Trader,I have a question about shooting. Do you get to fire as many times as your Attacks times the number of dice for the weapon? Its pretty straight forward most of the time, but if a Dreadnought is shooting what can fire? It has 4 attacks and two ranged weapons, an assault cannon and a storm bolter. Can the Dreadnought only fire the cannon and bolter once each rolling 6 dice for the cannon and 1 or 2 for the bolted, or could it fire the cannon 4 times, at 6 dice each time? Thanks in advance for your responses. Dante |

The Attack stat is only used in close combat. For shooting you fire a number of dice as detailed by the weapon itself. The Attack stat of the model has no effect on shooting. |

Thanks. So each weapon on the model can fire as many dice as on the weapon's stat line? |

Yes – e.g. Assault 2 means 2 dice, etc. |

Yes and you can fire all the weapons you have listed with the exception of pistols. Pistols cannot be fired with other weapons but are the only weapon you can fire with enemy within 1" of you. Also not that rapid fire weapons mean that you shoot 2x the listed number if you are within half range. |

Or, if a unit is equipped with grenades and they're within grenade range of a target, one of them can chuck a grenade instead of firing its other stuff. |
