I know that empress offers french paras for Indochina, but they are only suitable for late war. How about using warlords plastic marines as early war french? |

yes, it will work almost perfect, that's the recommended solution so far. For weapons, you will have to use The Assault Group spares for MAS 36 rifles. Submachine guns MAT 49, will work only for the later period. LMGs will be a pain to find. There are none that could work for French. Maybe modifying some Japanese Type 99 (also available from TAG) |

To my knowledge early war French Union troops were known to wear whatever they could get (uniforms didn't tend to last long in Indochina). They also had access to British uniforms/gear and weapons. I have a few French wearing slouch hats (British Pacific figs) and holding Brens. From my reading I believe it's ok for your French Union uniforms to be quite varied; even in the same unit. |

My mate Koen has used the Warlord plastic Marines for Indi-China, some pics on his blog. dalemunk.blogspot.se He says that the BAR can be turned into a passable FM 24/29 simply by moving the magazine to the top. |
