Hello I add some photos about progress of a conversion of Sail of Glroy ship. I hope you like it. Best regards, Julián link |

Interesting. Are you converting? Into what? or upgrading? And whats the liquid you sunk the ship in? Cliff |

It is alcohol. Alcohol dissolves the paint but does not attack the plastic. |

That's beautiful, *way* better than the factory paint job. Are you going to rig it? Just curious – why did you remove the paint instead of just overpainting or using a wash over the existing paint job? - Ix |

Five photos down, and its already a completely new ship. Astonished. Just astonished. |

Yellow Admiral. I remove "the paint" because It is not paint, it is a kind of impression with satin finish that hides the detail of the deck. The sides of the hull are not the problem but in the deck it is necessary to do it. And yes, I am going to rig it. MacrossMartin. I add two more photos of the intermediate process. link link (The other two boats are from Langton) |

It literally looks like an entirely different model now. The shading and choice of colors really brings out the detail (detail that I didn't even know SoG models had!), and converts the overall impression from cartoon to realistic model. Very nicely done. - Ix |

Today I have finished the rigging and the running rigging. I also have changed the color of the side of the stern ( three lines of windows and now two lines of windows and a balustrade) link link link link link link link |

Stunning, Julian, simply stunning. What do you use for the sea base – is that watercolour paper? Nick |

Magnifique! Outstanding results. I never would have guessed a SoG model could look so nice. I only just noticed – you cut the sails off the masts! Did you leave them attached at the spar, or cut them off entirely and reglue them later? It looks like you also thinned the spars (especially those round, blunt tips). That's mad! Admirably mad. You should photograph that ship sailing by one of your harbor scenes. They deserve each other. - Ix |

Bozkashi Jones. Thank you. No, I have used this matherial: link Yellow Admiral. Thank you but I have used mast and sails from Langton miniatures. |

Ah! That's a far less mad solution. In fact, Langton tophamper is a downright sensible choice. :-) I like the Langton masts and sails, and they make nearly any sailing ship look 100% better. I wish the Langton ADW and ACW masts were offered as separate kits too. :-\ - Ix |

I think you can talk to Carol and tell him to sell you the ADW ACW masts. Acordais a price and if you are interested I do not see any inconvenience. In fact, I bought Carol two sets of candles and masts from ADW for Napoleonic ships and I made two ships of early the eighteenth century. |
