Beowulf | 13 Jun 2017 2:16 p.m. PST |
I am sorry Armand, but this is the stupidest figure I have seen in a looooong time. Female breast respond to gravity, the piercing would go in the bellybutton, not the stomach (ouch), and the armour makes no sense. What do those bands on the right hip protect? And how are they in place? Crazy Glue? Freya is a goddess of fertility, not fetishism. |

Beowulf – +1! You forgot to mention the "armor" that covers nothing of importance and the absurdly large sword. The only things missing are stripper boots. Ah, well, we can't have everything… |
Ottoathome | 13 Jun 2017 2:29 p.m. PST |
Freya!!!??? Freya!!!??? You've got to be kidding. The sculptor has gotten the essence of fertility correctly but for the rest he's a talentless boob! Freya in Norse mythology doesn't go around with armor and helmet, and certainly not a nipple ring. It would be far better had she been completely nude with enormous flowing hair. Think Bimbo for your inspiration. This is a piece of crap for Freya. Might be good for a fetish-Brunhilda but not Freya. Goddesses don't worry about sagging breasts or other things but as far as someone who tended the golden apple trees that kept the Gods ever young, she's a complete failure. She could have chopped Fafnir and Fasolt to chutney, rather than have to be rescued by Wotan. Clearly the 12 year olds will like this figure, but it's just another bit of BD&SM for the twelve year olds in the audience. I'll give him a little for the sculpting which defines a lush form of women emphasizing there Luxuria, but that brings it from an F to a straight D. |

Otto. Otto Otto. That is not a nipple ring. That is a hand grenade. Pull the pin and toss her as far… Oh, forget it, that ain't gonna happen. |

Won't she have a bad case of 'helmet hair' ? <snerk> |

The figure is fine and meets all the requisites for fantasy genera I'm not an expert on Norse mythology but would it be easier to handle if she had a different name? we can call her Marge if it helps you any. Breasts are fine, maybe she's 20 years old and hasn't had a kid yet…I think the swords are made for practical purposes. If they were thin then they'd be pretty useless as wargaming figures…And ive seen lots of untraditional piercings…this isn't out of the scope of possibility…Great figure for a Chaos Army… Great job by the sculptor…Skills that I'm sure none of us possess… |

As the goddess Freya, this is a total failure. As a generic fantasy figure, her boots are believable. |
Vampifan01 | 15 Jun 2017 2:18 a.m. PST |
Simply because Otto hates her and there is so much negativity about her, I'm going to say I like her. I like her a lot! Oh, and, no, I'm not a 12 year old kid! |
Ottoathome | 15 Jun 2017 7:28 a.m. PST |
Dear Stepman3 You say "I'm not an expert on Norse mythology" Do you always talk about things you know nothing about? It would explain a lot. |
Dark Fable | 15 Jun 2017 8:23 a.m. PST |
Actually as a fantasy figure, which it is, the model is no more outlandish or exaggerated than the steroid enhanced behemoth next to her. It's only because it is female that the experts on anatomical realism and arbiters of moral decency have made their appearance. I like the figure – it is well posed and has some fantastic details that are cleanly sculpted. Cool body piercings and awesome shield – absolutely great for a Chaos army shield maiden. I would love to see it painted up. |

Otto, is this where I boo-hoo because you hurt my feelings or you made "a personal insult to me"? Are you an expert on everything talk about? |
Ottoathome | 15 Jun 2017 4:26 p.m. PST |
No Stepman, I really couldn't care about your feelings, nor was I trying to hurt them. You said you knew nothing about Norse mythology so I'm taking you at your word. By the way I assume you meant to ask " Are you an expert on everything (I) talk about" rather than as you wrote "Are you an expert on everything talk about." The answer is yes. When I talk about it I am expert in it, otherwise I don't speak on it. As far as an insult, you did that to yourself. You shot your own foot off. |
Vampifan01 | 16 Jun 2017 8:20 a.m. PST |
QUOTE "When I talk about it I am expert in it, otherwise I don't speak on it." So now we can add arrogance to your long list of failings. Chuckle! :-) You are a laugh a minute, Otto! |

So you're an expert on hip dysplasia, sculpting and painting? I'd love to see some of your amazing work Otto. Funny though. I own thousands of figures from dozens of sculptors but none from you. ahh, anyhoo, maybe you could show me sometime at one of the conventions I go to Cold wars, Fall-In and Historicon…Looking forward to it… |

@zoneofcontrol Please dont be silly. How in Odins hall could Freya have a "hand grenade"? Ahistorical comments like these destroy all resemblance of a serious mythological debate… :-) |
zoneofcontrol | 19 Jun 2017 9:53 a.m. PST |
Me?!? Being silly? Oh, Okay. I resemble that remark. |
