TVAG, I'm not as pessimistic. Good taste in the fine arts does not always come from the majority. Maybe if I ask ten people on the street if they listen to classical music, there is a good chance that not even one would say yes. But I know that I do, and there are others as well. Try to get tickets to an opera of Richard Wagner's ring cycle; they go for hundreds of dollars a ticket and sell out months in advance. Capitalism and the free market are a good thing. When people see that the latest pop craze is garbage, they move on to the next piece of crap being peddled. But somehow good art and quality survive from one century to the next. Even in a world which seems full of orcs at times, there exist just enough of us to keep good things alive. |

Masked and Anonymous – Bob Dylan ain't winnin' a Nobel for acting and the script makes no sense. The remake of The Magnificent Seven. It's so bad it makes The Hateful Eight, which also should not have been made, look like Oscar material. Any of the WWE movies. I am embarrassed to admit I was an extra in three of them and I know whereof I speak. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter Starship Troopers Any of the Mad Max ripoffs made in Italy LT |
