Gearing up for a convention game, and I'd like to speed things up just a little if I can. I have seen--even participated in--a Charge! variant in which one rolled all dice at once and compared. This helped, but I can think of at least two ways to line up the dice--high against low to maximize casualties or high against high to minimize them--and can't remember which was used. Who has played such a variant, and is there a customary (or official) system?

Thanks for your help

We do this for several systems where multiple dice are
rolled, especially for melee/hand-to-hand.

We compare high to high to assess results and, as an
additional way to speed up the process, ties are
assessed on BOTH sides (i.e., if the 'tie' number
normally means 'killed,' each figure involved is removed;
routed/retreated-same).

I have no idea if this is an 'official' method, merely
the method we've used for many years.

High vs high sounds best.
