Must share this good news and Alan Perry says I can do so. Just for fun I did the poor man's Photoshop on the new 1er EClaireurs image to look like Gardes d'Honneur. TMP link Made me think the conversion would not be too challenging, mounting them on standing French Chasseur horses. But, I thought, before I do more converting to figures that they are just about to release anyway, I would sound him out in strict confidence about any planned release. By return, he tells me is working on them right now….with standing horses as an option…but….and this is clever…really clever…a range of metal heads to go onto the Perry French Hussars. He did notice the interest on this forum….it is worth asking…sometimes the experts really do listen! |

Great news Deadhead, hope they bring out some of the Gardes d'Honneur personalities (generals acting as colonels) too. |

How much respect do I have for anyone who listens to what we say…and replies, literally, by return? He said he put down the Greenstuff, whilst working on them, to respond to my e mail. Genius to produce the heads for the plastics. The flying pelisses I can live with, even if not for a still unit. In full dress they will look brilliant. Campaign dress…..OK…we know they should not have the lace and flounders and red shako exposed…..but how good will they look? I am just as delighted as I was to see the Eclaireurs (more actually, having spent ages trying to create such from Perry figures). |

Deadhead are there going to be metals or just metal heads for plastics??? Or is it that there are two ways to put units on table?? |

The idea is this I think. We can look forward to metal Gardes d'Honneur in a pelisse and overalls(Green and green) with the shako not covered (Red, silver eagle, white lace/cords/flounders). OK, on campaign that would be a wrinkled black look, if we are to be honest and incredibly boring…… As in my attempted IT "conversion" link above, like the 1er Eclaireurs, with different head ornaments and on French Light cavalry sheepskin shabraques. All metal. But the clever thing is…..also… a release of a set of metal heads to convert the plastic French Hussars into GdH. Then you would get them in parade dress. Dolman, Pelisse, red breeches and high boots exposed. The existing plastic pelisses (indeed the torsos) are very "heroic" mouldings for a stationary parade, but I can work on that, personally. |

Exciting news! Any clues as to when we can expect these to be available? |

"But the clever thing is…..also… a release of a set of metal heads to convert the plastic French Hussars into GdH." Brilliant!! Great news, thanks Liam (and Perry's!). |

Superb news, I have a couple of units of the new EClaireurs, beautiful and cannot wait to pain them, and Gardes D'Honneur are a must for my 1813 project, Tally Ho! |

So, basically, hussars with new heads yes? Now, with the shako, will the cords we only at the front, which I have seen a reference to (i.e. That they looped them back across the front rather than wrapping them all the way around the shako). Otherwise, is that it? I must check my Lilian and Fred Marc |

The real challenge was to swap the sides of the flounders (the dangly round pair of lace things that hang from cords on the side of the shako in full dress. GdH had to be different from everyone else! The doubled cords in front or single fore and aft I think no one knows. I think the plume might be reduced in width possibly? Not sure…but yes, Hussars with different headgear. That is something I have long awaited and it seems obvious that there is great interest in this unit. Converting the existing plastic heads would have been tricky as many of the shakos have the early diamond shaped plate. What impressed me most is that he has been listening to what folk are saying on this forum….. there is a lesson to us there! |

great work by Alan Perry – and usually with the Perrys – great sculpting along with great research – state of the art in 28 mm Napoleonics. |

VW but how do we make the Eclaireurs with ABs? |

Ah……very profound I admit. I'll be honest. My one foray into that scale….building coaches…showed me the quality that can be achieved. I'll bet it could be done, with much conversion and swapping…but the answer is everybody feedback the need. Perrys WERE listening |
