I never played the game, though it sounds like it must be a lot of fun. Anyway, I just came across this pic. Not sure if the vessel is to scale, but I hope it still inspires more gaming and scratchbuilding of ships:
Dan PS. By the way, does anyone make anything like this "air-raft" (grav/hover shuttle thingy) for 15mm? Or if someone has built one from scratch, is there a tutorial or instructions? link link |

Type S scout, obviously skimming hydrogen because crew is too cheap to buy refined fuel. |

Lol, but it looks like at least one of them is making the most of that time. Dan |

Thanks. As it turns out, I can use that picture in next weeks Traveller game.😁 |

There was some discussion of 3D printing a Type S scoutship not long ago. Bashytobits, sorry I'm sure I misspelled that, was considering it I believe. |

GZG has a 15mm air-raft, though it doesn't have that much nose on it, and is a two-seater with cargo area instead of a roomy four-seater. |

TNE2300, are those prices in dollars or Mexican pesos? :) Jason, that sketch of a "7-man open top" is exactly the look I was looking for. Long, sleek and yet roomy. Dan |

Those prices are ridiculous. At least, it keeps those piccies available. Have to admit I had my dreams of avarice excited. ;->= Basic shape of the 'rafts' seems pretty straightforward; even a ten-thumbed fellow such as myself should be able to cobble SOMETHING usable. Doug |

RAFM has those same casting available at a fraction of the crazy prices link But the air raft isn't available for some reason, interesting |

Dan from whence came the original artwork? |
Darkest Star Games | 09 Jun 2017 7:13 a.m. PST |
We have Grav rafts (5 man) in 6mm, and will be having some new G-carrier type vehicles coming out in 15mm very soon. The 15mm grav rafts are undergoing test printing as we speak! |
LostPict | 09 Jun 2017 2:03 p.m. PST |
Better watch out for misjumps with that unrefined fuel… |
Oberlindes Sol LIC | 09 Jun 2017 8:03 p.m. PST |
@WarpSpeed: The ship bears IISS livery, so it is certainly still in service, and fuel costs will be borne by the IISS, not the crew. It's more likely that the crew is refuelling on a world that has such a low tech level that refined fuel is simply unavailable -- just the sort of place Scouts are usually found. |

@Tsofian: "from whence came the original artwork?" It was something that popped up on Pinterest: link @Darkest Star Games: "The 15mm grav rafts are undergoing test printing as we speak!" I can't wait to see what you have coming! Dan |

Tsofian, RAFM has (IIRC) Citadel Traveller miniatures, not Martian Metals. I still think those prices seem a bit exorbitant, but that's the price you can find old OOP miniatures from classic ranges for (not that different for old Rogue Trader metal models for instance) |
TheBeast | 12 Jun 2017 5:26 a.m. PST |
I have some of both; far as I can tell, of the few I have, both were the same sculpts making the same line. However, the quality of castings was heavily in Citadel's favor. I might be delusional, of course. About this, that is. Otherwise, no doubt. Doug |
GypsyComet | 12 Jun 2017 8:28 a.m. PST |
I have some of the Martian Metals and most of the RAFM re-issue Citadels, and they are entirely different models. Some of the sculpting is similar, but the RAFM/Citadels are more consistent for size and style, while the MM stuff was all over the place for both. |
TheBeast | 12 Jun 2017 1:52 p.m. PST |
Delusional, it is. ;->= Doug |
