As always, they look great!

Yup, lovely as always – very effective use of colours/shading.

And the basing is good too

Wow! Really nice indeed:)

Are they plastics?

Excellent work, if I did not already have Napoleonic armies in 6mm, 10mm and 15/18mm I would be tempted to get 1/72 by seeing your figures! Good to see Russians in a real dark green as well.

Great work, how did you do the ropes?

Mateus08 Jun 2017 11:05 a.m. PST

@jfominiaturepainting, these are 1/72 plastics.

@Phatt Rhatt, I painted the ropes in light beige, then applied a coat of Citadel Agrax earthshade wash.

Thats it I'm selling my collection as scrap.

Phatt Rhatt09 Jun 2017 4:53 a.m. PST

Where did the ropes come from?

Mateus09 Jun 2017 6:00 a.m. PST

They're plastic, included in the kit, Phatt.

Yup, people think 1/72 is a "poor scale" – but the detail in Zvezda's kits is absolutely stunning – I remember seeing the Russian cuirassier for the first time and realising that there was air around the stirrups in places – between the stirrup and the boot!!!!!!

And Mateus has the knack of turning out really nice, well finished units REALLY quickly – I think he is more than one man grin

Let's be honest. There was a time when 1/72 was the poor relation and only for the kids on pocket money….like me in early 70s.

Look at the Airfix figures back then. Even I knew they were rubbish, with midget cuirassiers facing huge British Hussars (who featured a kettledrummer)

These days they are better proportioned and far better animated than most 28mm ranges…most

Lovely work, inspiring, and a reminder of just how good the current crop of plastics can be. If I was starting out now, I would be pushing my gaming mates towards doing something like General d' Armee in 1/72 plastics.

That's what I'm doing – so one of my friends has gone big on Prussians for waterloo. Lots of HaT Prussians and just waiting on those landwehr
