"Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt cut diplomatic ties with Qatar, escalating a crisis that started over Qatar's relationship with Iran and its support of the Muslim Brotherhood.

The three countries said they will suspend air and sea travel to and from Qatar. Saudi Arabia said it will shut land crossings with its neighbor, according to the official Saudi Press Agency. Bahrain has given Qatari diplomats 48 hours to leave…."

This is a red herring.

"Saudi-led Alliance..", now that is a strange sounding phrase. Remind me, where did the 9/11 terrorists come from? What country in the region has the strictest interpretation of Islam? Which country did the USA pull its military bases from over the last two decades and transfer them to Qatar?

Qatar is a beacon of light in the middle-east.

Still waiting for us to go after the true supporter of Islamic terrorists. The Saudis have done nothing to change. The money keeps on rolling into the terrorists hands. The Saudis are not our friends. They are the enemy. I think it is long overdue to try and approach the Iranians, at least the Persians can fight. Just remember after 9/11 the Arabs were celebrating, while the Iranians were laying flowers in support of the USA at memorials. Maybe it is time for someone other the the Saudis to control Mecca.

I wonder if it has anything to do with this kidnapping of Qatari royals:

PS. For the Saudis to call the Qatari labor practices barbaric is really saying something.

The US will never try for a rapprochement with Iran as long as the destruction of Israel remains a stated goal and it keeps supporting proxy armies (i.e. Hezbollah and Hamas) to that end. Iran also has to cease pursuing nukes.

But you're right. As long as Saudi Arabia bankrolls Salafist and Wahhabi schools and institutions they are not in any position to criticize Qatar.

Cacique Caribe06 Jun 2017 11:48 a.m. PST

Agreed. The source of the problem is the Salafi and Wahhabi ideology, which means that the Saudis own the lion share of responsibility for the terrorism.
