For those who enjoy such things, here is my list of (mostly) historical rule sets. It's pretty comprehensive, so if you;re looking for what's available for a given era it can be a fun place to start….. Key: - RD? = whether I have written up a summary for my Rules Directory project (feel free to contribute – ask me how!)
- HC? = Do I own a hard copy/PDF?
- FF? = Have I made a folder for it (I store my rules books in file folders)
- LI = cheat for creating online lists
- Title = Obvious
- Period = What eras the rules cover (can be approximate for some that cover all horse & musket, etc)
- Scope = Scope of the game overall. Designed for a skirmish? Tactical (a company a side)? Grand Tactical (for fighting Waterloo or Gettysburg)?
- Author and Publisher, obvious.

I've been working on something along these lines, but now, I realize you've done a better job and my work need never be completed. Bravo! |

I haven't yet started to *really* tackle Fantasy or SciFi but I'll be working on that over the summer. Mean time, if you can think of a rule set that isn;t on the list please let me know! |

At the moment I just add to it as I hear about new rules. At some point I'll start in on SciFi and Fantasy. Honestly, the hardest part is just to make sure you "hear about" the new ones. I think my list of older ones os getting pretty comprehensive. Maintenance is easy as adding a new one takes only a few seconds… |

Only 1627 titles? Geez, what a slacker! Slightly more seriously, this is major and thanks for doing it. LT |

Extra Crispy! Your otherwise remarkable list is deficient in several titles published by TVAG, either by lacking them altogether, or missing data points. If it's oversight, please PM me for the particulars. If it's a deliberate editorial choice, be damned to you, Sir! TVAG |

Missing Volley Fire by Mike Nemechek, SYW rules, elegant and highly playable system – just need to be able to handle fractions (I made it easy for the fraction averse by having them think terms of quarters – as in twenty-five cent piece). Too bad it never went fully mainstream. |

Impressive. Next time you update your list: Snappy Nappy is corp-level (each unit is brigade). Author is Russ Lockwood. Publisher is On Military Matters. The "Lockwood Projects" publisher was me when I released the initial version as 5.5x8.5-inch 'shareware' booklet back in 1994. The new version is a full 8.5x11-inch booklet released in 2009, with illustrations and QRSes. |
