and they do First regt too! Pure chance happened to look on their website, pondering what to convert to create proper Garde Grenadiers a Cheval …and saw these. There was that rumour a few weeks ago. Then I think of the cutting, filing, sawing I did to make these from Carlist War lancers and Chasseurs a Cheval… They have got every detail right!…even the slung pistol

They snuck through the net! Edited to say just seen on their facebook page that the newsletter announcing them had been misplaced or similar! Tally Ho! |

Wow, they do look good. Deadhead, how long have you been waiting for these Eclaireurs? ;) |
deadhead | 05 Jun 2017 2:32 p.m. PST |
A very long time indeed. Now what do I do with the bunch in the attic? Must admit, I had never really thought about the 1e eclaireurs either, until I saw these! |

I shall use them to convert into the Berg Lancers! Just need different shakos. |

Much conversion potential indeed. Great that they left them "simply" equipped, especially without a rolled cloak which, however much it might protect you (so long as over the correct shoulder) does sacrifice that opportunity. The 1e figures now have me wondering about Gardes d'Honneur in campaign dress. |

At last There goes more cash now if they'd do some Gardes d'Honneur I'd be in in Nirvana Peter |

Straight on to my wishlist. Thanks for the heads up. |

The conversion to Gardes d'Honneur? You buy a box of plastic French Hussars and use the horses. You shave off the flounders from the shako and stick them on the opposite side of the 1e. You add that twist of lace across the front (you know the brass cage that comes with a nice Rioja? Already on there!). But my wish list would be parade dress….

Thanks for posting.I know what my next order to Perry will be; I've been wanting these for a long, long time! Rick |

You want Gardes d'Honneur…here is how they would look, but they need to go on Hussar horses. I am sure the Perrys will forgive me this bit of IT plagiarism!

I keep hoping for Gardes d'Honneur – preferably with swords on shoulders, and on horses that are standing still. |
deadhead | 06 Jun 2017 12:59 p.m. PST |
Absolutely agree. One good thing. Perry do very few horses standing still, but the exceptions are cuirassiers (also for new dragoons) and French light cavalry (for the line chasseurs a cheval). The latter are ideal. |

I would love to do those conversions and may still do so….but these were "converted" with Microsoft Paint and ten minutes work. I just know that, the moment I do, Perrys will release Gardes d'Honneur in campaign dress. It really is largely a paint job, with some shako decoration to look better (OK…this is meant to be campaign but…) and the Chasseurs a cheval look brilliant above. I just love to see ranks of cavalry standing "at the ready"…not charging at everything……how about the 10 on the portmanteaux? |
