Way back when, my dad painted Wellington's entire 100 days army in 25mm – mostly Minifigs with some Hinchcliffe – I think there are 3 or 4 thousand of them. I have a few hundred French but would like to paint up some more so that there is some balance and at least enough for some decent sized games. I bought a couple of battalions from Calivers (24 figures per battalion)- it's great that they are available but I still have a nosebleed from the price including shipping to the US (there is no break for the VAT). What are Old Glory 25mm figures like? Do you think they'd be a good way to fill this gap or would I be better off scouring the shows (I got a couple of dozen at Enfilade this year) and The Miniatures Page market place for old French Minifigs? |

I have a ton of Minifigs 25mm Swedish figures, a few painted but most in poly bags from the day (probably 30 or 40 years ago) I got them in a trade. I might be able to fill some gaps in some units and maybe even paint them up. Talk about nostalgia. |

We have units of both in our French forces. They are quite different in style. Minifies, of course, have their classic formal poses. I would say that the old Glory figures are more impressionistic, like Hinchclliffe figures in the day, or Elite figures now. But I have no problem with that. And no one who plays in one of my games has ever complained about the range of sculpting styles when their reinforcements arrive on the table. Rick |

Old Glory would be quite a bit larger than Minifigs. I would put put a WTB on TMP marketplace, LAF, Bartertown, Facebook Historical Miniature Buy and Sell. |

The price of the reissue minifigs does make the eyes pop open don't they! I would say take a look at Prince August cast your own. Fun to make and similar style to the minifigs. |

The Old Glory are bigger than mid 1970's Minifigs, but not nearly as big as Perry, front Rank, Calpe, Elite, Redoubt or Essex. The will look fine in units of their own. The style is quite different. One word of advice – the Old Glory Napoleonic Artillery are seriously undersized; use the excel;lent Sash and Saber guns also available through OG) instead. If you live in the US, with the Army card or the bulk purchase discount, it is impossible to beet Old Glory on price. There are a great many pictures of Old Glory figures on my blog – use the "Old Glory" Label to browse them.

Scooba; I have for sale a lot 25mm Minfigs for the hundred days campaign that I never got around to painting and will not as I am focusing on the War of 1812 in 28mm. I can send you a list (word doc)if you can provide and email address. P.S. I have a lot of 25mm Hincliffe that are uncatalogued but could list if you were seriously interested. |

Thank you all for your responses – I will probably try some Old Glory units and see how they look alongside the old Minifigs IronDuke – my email is petefry AT gmail and I'm interested in what you have for sale. |
